Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 1 of 34Good medium-priced hotel
It was a good, medium-priced hotel: good location, clean, and comfortable

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 34Not worth the it!
The hotel is divided in a very strange way. We had to stay across the street from the main part of the hotel and had no access to the pool. If you wanted the free breakfast, you walked across two streets to get to the office. The location is only two blocks from the alamo but not a very safe location after dark. The housekeeping did a bad job cleaning the rooms and didn't bother to knock before coming in. They just barged in. We stayed for 3 days and not once did they vacuum or clean the sink counter. We will not stay there again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 34"Great room for the money"
Neighborhood is OK for daytime walking. Had some concerns after dark. Price is 25% cheaper then others in the area. Cannot eval pool as we never got there. . .spent all our time on the riverwalk. The man at the front desk was more then helpful . . . giving detailed directions, including maps, to the various attractions. we were there only one night . .very nice room. Oh yea . . the room had a safe . . that is a pleasant surprise for people traveleing with laptops and or weapons ( this is Texas! haha!)

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 34Great for money and location
I really enjoyed the hotel. It was convenient to the Hyatt, where the WHFSC Martial Arts Hall of Fame was being held, and I could also visit other sites such as the Riverwalk and the Alamo with ease. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

I was on the second floor and I didn't have any problems with bugs. I like the convienience of being so close to the River Walk area. I would stay there again.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 34Good Value for Downtown
You are not going to find a more affordable option for staying downtown near the Rivercenter, River Walk and the Alamo. Book early and stay in Downtown San Antonio for about half of the other hotel prices!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 34OK Location, But The Hotel Needs HELP!
The location of the Days Inn Riverwalk was very convenient to the Riverwalk shopping mall and river entertainment district. Unfortunately the half of the Days Inn that I stayed in is in dire need of help. I say "the half" that I stayed in because one half of the hotel is across the street from the other half. Upon entering the room for the first time, I could immediately feel the dampness. Later that night I found out that I was mistaken to walk bare-foot in the room. The carpet actually felt damp. And it was not even humid outside. It was almost as if the carpet had been sprayed down and left to dry... unfortunately it never did dry. The shower was in sad need of cleaning. Mold appeared in all corners. It's amazing what a little bleach will do. If there was any bright spot to my stay at this hotel is was the front desk staff. They were very friendly and very helpful. They unfortunately could not switch my room assignment because they were sold out. But they did fix the problem when the maid for some reason gave me 3 bath-mats instead of 3 towels. The Days Inn Riverwalk COULD be a much nicer hotel but it's going to take one heckuva face-lift.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 34Poorest Customer Service
We arrived at 11:30am and knew we could not check in until 3pm. We arrived at the entrance to the hotel and there was a small sign not visible from the sitting position of the car. We parked in the center parking lot to be sure not to block any rooms. We went to get something to eat and came back to find that OUR CAR HAD BEEN TOWED. The check in desk did not give a damn - didn't even tell us where to pick up our car. We had a prepaid Hotels.com reservation and in state license plates. They could have easily run the plates and found we were a customer. We had to take a cab to the impound lot and had to pay $185.00 to retrieve our car. Needless to say we are furious. We will never stay at a Day's Inn again and certainly not at this hotel.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 34not worth the money
For being downtown in such a good city its just a basic Days Inn as found any where else. The difference is that is was probably painted a little bit better, only because of the color of it. I have seen closets bigger than the restroom. Parking was pretty small. Some of the furniture was minorly damage. The lighting was bad and the overall room was pretty small. Someone I know got a suite at a different hotel for less than what i paid.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 34Location, Location, Location
The hotel itself leaves a bit to be desired. It is pretty run down and needs to be remodeled. And while the room appeared to be clean, we found a few bugs in the sink/tub area the morning we were checking out. One thing I had not expected is that all of the rooms lead directly to the outside, motel style, which I'm not a fan of. On the plus side, the location is great - two blocks from the Alamo, the River Center, and about 3-4 blocks from the Riverwalk. The parking was free, and the staff allowed us to keep our car in the lot after we had checked out so we could spend the afternoon on the river. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was the best priced hotel within walking distance to all of the things we wanted to see, so we did sacrifice comfort for location. While the room itself was less than spectacular, we weren't planning on being there much anyway, so it was fine.
