Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 19Good room for the money
I expected it to be a little nicer, but, it's VERY close to everything (like a block or two from both the Alamo and the Riverwalk). The only downside was that everything in the room was old. Plus, the pool is RIGHT next to the street/highway, so it's a little uncomfortable. The staff, though, is GREAT, very flexible. Plus, it's much cheaper than the rooms in the hotels in the vacinity. It's just old and simple. If you're looking for a cheap, safe room in a great location, this is your hotel. If you want a flat screen TV and a fancy pool, I'd stay somewhere else.

Cockroaches in room, ants in breakfast, rude staff, no working vending machine. I recommend the hotel mamosa.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 19Great location, bad location
This hotel is just a short 5-8 minute walk to the Riverwalk and to the Alamo. The convenience of the location is excellent. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the neighborhood is on the border of a more run-down section of town and it is 100yds from railroad tracks. Trains are going by every two hours or so, so definitely bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. There was a problem with bugs coming up out of the sink, but I only saw this 3 out of the 7 days that I was there. Also, there is no iron or ironing board, and as someone attending a conference (and a military member) this was frustrating. Overall, given the price of other hotels in the area, I had a better experience than I've had in more expensive places.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 19Needs Incredible Improvement
The room smelled terrible and the air conditioning didn't work. After cleaning, the staff left a dirty, wet sponge on the counter, no garbage bags, and left wet towels hanging in the bathroom. We found hair in the bed and in the shower drain... it was an unpleasant experience

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 19A cry for help
The entire room was a biology experiment. Mold growing in the batroom and under the glass on the pictures on the walls. The room smelled of mildew and it grew stronger as the a/c unit ran. The furniture was decaying due to the moisture in the room. On a possitive, Bed was comfortable and tv worked well.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 19Reasonable deal for the money you pay.
This is a really nice hotel. But do not judge it thoughtfully. You are paying half of what you would if you would stay at any other hotel in that area. You literally in the downtown, 5minutes walking time from river-walk, 3 min from the Alamo, 10 minutes from Hemisphere Park where Tower of Americas is. The neighborhood is not the best one, but still a security guy was there to make sure you are doing alright. One more thing is the parking. It is free. I don't think that Marriott will offer you free parking. But the parking in San Antonio is serious problem. Here, your car is parked and you do not need to worry where to park.

Hotel was okay, price was comparative to other hotels in the area. Hotel was not as nice as others in the area, though.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 19Good room for the price/location
The room was clean and the bathroom area was large. The staff was helpfull. I "made" my bed each day so the cleaning staff would just leave it as is. That didn't work. Each day I returned to a bed made up to the satisfaction of the hotel staff. There was no iron so if you are on business and need to iron something good luck. I had the air conditioner set at the temp that was good for me but each day I returned to an ice cold room, it seems that the cleaning staff thought I needed it to be cooler in my room. I did witness an interaction with another customer that would have made me very upset had I been that customer. It seems that she had made a reservation to stay at what she thought was the Days Inn Riverwalk/Alamo and in fact her reservation was at the Days Inn Riverwalk/Downtown. The staff was not really very helpfull in correctiong the error and reserving her a room in the place she wanted to stay. Over all it was a nice place to stay and I would recomend it for anyone that didn't want to pay tons of money but watned to be close to the Riverwalk and the Alamo.
