Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 200Nice
This hotel is old but in good condition and clean. Our room was very spacious and it was the most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in. I would stay there again.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 200GREAT LOCATION
GOOD VALUE. VERY CLEAN . SOME SORT OF RENOVATION GOING ON DURING OUR STAY. THE HALLWAY ON OUR FLOOR HAD A BAD SMELL, BUT THE ROOM AIR WAS FINE. THE BEST LOCATION! STEPS TO MICHIGAN AVENUE. THE DOOR STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 200Good room for the money
Our Superior class room was small but comfortable and we slept fairly well. The hotel was undergoing renovation at the time, so there was some noise and dust, but nothing that bothersome. The location is outstanding. Our biggest complaint was the continued failure of the room entry system. We spent several minutes trying to get into our rooms because the key card making machinery used by the hotel does a poor job of programming the cards to open the door.

it would have been nice if we didn't have to change rooms during our stay....the second room was a bit larger and had a way better view. the location of the hotel was great. the breakfast was not so great. had to walk downstairs....just for coffee.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 8 of 200A Good Place for a Grandmother and a child
The hotel was just what my granddaughter and I needed. I felt safe and comfortable at all times. The room was nicely decorated. The bedding was extremely comfortable and pretty. The bathroom was a little cramped, but adequate. The staff was more than helpful. Since we came to visit the American Girl Place, the convenience was perfect. The only downside was the construction; however, it was kept to a minimum and out of our way as we came and went. We thoroughly enjoyed or stay and would certainly stay there again on a future trip.

We have stayed here before, so we had a good impression then, but again, this hotel treated us like VIPs! Checking in, getting a taxi, anything we asked for, we received with a great friendly attitude. Wonderful location to everything. We would definitely stay here next time we go to Chicago.

Room a little musty/smoky. Renovations still going on at the hotel. Noisy from street and other guests. Clean and great location.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 200Under Construction
I couldn't believe the price we paid for this hotel smack dab in the middle of Chicago. Perhaps that was because a portion of the hotel was being rebuilt and one elevator was not operating. Despite that slight inconvenience, everything else was absolutely first class, the best hotel experience I've ever had. The staff went out of their way, especially the daytime concierge, who directed us with wit and charm. The adjoining bar/restaurant was pricey but excellent. The ambiance throughout the property was tasteful luxury. The Whitehall was a wonderful place to stay: beautifully decorated, conveniently located, and in a safe neighborhood.
