Wonderful!!

I love this place!!!The rooms are clean and spacious. The perfect place for a romantic getaway!

Overall a great experience

I surprised my boyfriend with a little romantic get-away for his birthday, and the Hotel Derek was a great choice. The furnishings and style of both the common areas and the room were very warm and modern. The bed was comfy, and we lucked out with a fantastic view (we didn't book a City View room). The location is great, with the Galleria only about a 15 minute walk away. We did use the complimentary shuttle once, but found the valet staff a bit rude and surprisingly not very knowledgeable about the nightlife in the area. The pool area is very nicely done, but is very small. The complimentary wi-fi went out for part of our trip at, of course, the worst time for us, but the staff were very helpful in getting us the information we needed. My only other complaint is that the sliding bathroom door, while stylish, does not give the feeling of much privacy. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and will probably return in the future.

I office near the Hotel Derek and would recommend it to anyone looking for a Hotel that offers great location, value and service.

Good room, great location.

Great location, very comfortable room. Staff very friendly. Only problem, I reserved a city view room, but only got to see the wall behind the pool. Other than that, everything, including room service was great.

NOT AT ALL WHAT I EXPECTED

I expected a great hotel when my boyfriend and I decided to stay at this hotel. We were put in a room on the same floor as a wedding part and their guests. People were running up and down the halls screaming all night long. The room right next to us had very loud music playing ALL Night long and people were yelling. The walls were very thin. WE called the front desk, but nothing was done. We got NO sleep whatsoever. When we were waiting for the elevators the next morning, another couple walked up and heard us talking and they had the same experience we had with the noise. I would not recommed this hotel to anyone ever.

The hotel is located in the middle of town and at night you can hear all the Saturday night traffic and the camera that flashed every time someone passed a red light.

4 Star?????

This hotel should be rated at 4 1/2, if not 5 Stars. The rooms and service was outstanding, not to forget the good deal I received.... Keep It Up, Hotel Derek Staff and Management :-)

Poor quality for the price

Lobby and outside appearance of hotel look like 4 star hotel but rooms look like 2 star. Bathroom toilet wouldn't flush and overall appearance of rooms definately not 4 star. Would not recommend for the price.

Great Hotel

This is a great hotel for the price! The decor was really fun and the hotel was pretty nice. The rooms were spacey, it doesnt have a large bath tub, but wasnt that big of a deal. As long as you expect the $20 a day valet charge, its nothing to complain about. Overall our stay was great!

"Needs Improvement"

Pool and pool area was not nearly big enough for hotel guests. The closing time was also inconvenient and closed earlier than what was specified. Also, called for room service before 2 am and was told they closed earlier since there was no call activity. Overall, was not please with the inconvenience.
