Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 127Exceeded our expectations
We were celebrating our Anniversary and so I tried to find the best deal on what I'd consider a very nice hotel in downtown Dallas. I didn't want to spend over $250 though, as I'd rather spend the extra on my wife in another way. This hotel was a steal for the price. They upgraded us at the desk to a suite since we had called and let them know in advance it was our anniversary. It was really amazing. The view from the 15th floor was gorgeous, and the luxury of the room was just right. I feel like I could have slept all day on that pillowtop bed. The hotel was located right downtown conventient to many local attractions. We did have to pay for valet, which was $21 for a 24 hour period. But we ended up taking our car out 3 times during that period, so it was well worth it. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 127Wonderful Hotel
I had a wonderful time at the hotel, the people at the Front Desk were amazing! They had put me on the 5th floor which was fine, but when i went to my room my view was kind of bland haha. So i quickly ran back down to the front desk and asked if it was possible for me to get another room with a little better view, the receptionist was very very helpful and very accommodating and bumped me up to a new room which had a gorgeous view ! Overall my stay was really nice and i would def stay again and refer others.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 127Outstanding Hotel Experience
Hotel was clean, very elegant. The room was huge, had a nice comfortable bed, all amenities you could hope for were in there waiting for you! If you needed extras.. they were sending them up for you! The have cars that will drive you around. Not a Ford Taurus, or run of the mill taxi. But a Lexus. They have laundry services, and shoe shining outside your door! It was wonderful

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 127there's better out there
i was charged an extra night of valet (we stayed 2 nights with in-an-out privileges of valet but was charged 3). We requested a non-smoking room but got one that had tobacco odor everywhere to the point where we got light headed. Calling to the front desk, we were unable to get a room change, so instead they sent housekeeping to spray a deordorizer that masked the smell for 5 mins. After walking to the front desk and telling them the importance of needing to breathe in our room, she found us a room. The final straw we had was with the shower. After getting out of a shower, i discovered the entire bathroom floor covered in water. At first i thought the toilet was leaking but it was the shower curtain! There was no plastic to keep the water in the tub. Instead it was made out of cloth which the water just absorbed through to the other side and went all over the bathroom. For the money we paid i'd expected much better.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 127Good Location and its nice to be treated in a Civil Manner
The Fairmont is within a short cab ride of Victory Park, American Airlines Center, House of Blues and the Arts District. Even though I live in Dallas, it was like a mini-vacation staying at the Fairmont. The staff is excellent. Step out front and they hailed me and my date a cab (on a rainy night) to go to the House of Blues to see a band. After the show, cabs were lined up and it was back to the civility of the Fairmont. The front desk staff offered a good suggestion when I asked about late night room service. There is a good pizza place that delivers till 3:00 am A few pieces of pizza at 1:00 am, watching Sportscenter and sleeping till 10:00 am. Sometimes you deserve a break from reality.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 127Nice Hotel
Nice Hotel... you can tell they renovated the hotel, but you can also tell they missed a few things. The rooms are very comfortable and the view was nice. The closet was huge, which is nice if you plan on staying a while. The bathroom left something to the imagination... they definitely saved money on the fixtures and the water pressure from the shower head isn't very good. You'll pay a pretty price for parking and internet, but overall not bad...the staff was very friendly and there were no major issues with room.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 127Great Hotel
My wife and I stayed at the Fairmont for our 1 year wedding anniversary and had a great time. The room was big, the bed incredibly comfortable (it was one of those that you sink into but still has support), and the floor to ceiling windows gave beautiful views of downtown. The room was also really clean and stocked full of towels and toiletries. We didn't get to use the pool because it was raining but we did investigate the rooftop terrace it was on and loved the set up. There were many places to lounge and I really appreciated the fact that the pool went all the way to 9 ft deep. I am 7ft tall and hardly ever use hotel pools because they generally only come up to my waist. We also enjoyed the convienent location of the hotel. Great food, site-seeing, and entertainment are all within walking distance so we were able to park our car at an off-site parking lot and not have to get it out until we were ready to head for home (you have to pay every time you take your car in and out so it saved us some money). The concierge was also extremely helpful, we needed a good place to eat breakfast (that we could walk to) and he pointed us to a little known spot in the building next door that was mainly for employees but open to the public. It turned out to be really good and really close and we never would have found it without him (not advertised at all..you had to know it was there). The hotel also has a Starbuck's on the first floor so we were able to get some coffee early the next morning and walk next door to Fountain Place where we sat amidst the hundreds of fountains to drink it. It was a great anniversary and we have already made plans to make The Fairmont part of our yearly celebration.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 127Delayed check-in time and exorbitant room service prices
This was a very nice hotel with a great room. However, we couldn't check-in until 2 hours after our check-in time. Also, we had intended to order some dinner from the room service, but we came to find that NOTHING on the menu was reasonably priced. One egg was $5. They tried to talk up the menu items as if they were something special that you cannot find elsewhere (the eggs were "omega-3 eggs"). I suppose this is just the nature of nice hotels, but they should have normal food items that people who aren't using an expense account can afford.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 127great room for the money
Our only complaint was that we weren't able to use the pool because a "fitness convention" had been booked at the same time as our stay and the pool was tied up with water aerobics classes the whole time.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 127Good location, helpful valet!
This hotel was a great deal for the price. The pool was awesome, the rooms were small but very clean and the beds were AWESOME, and while not right next to anything we wanted to see, nothing was more than a 5 minute cab ride away. The front desk staff was not very knowledgable, and the concierge was never at the desk, but the valet were great and had lots of restaurant suggestions, gave great directions, etc. The gym was also great...who doesn't love personal tv's on every piece of cardio equipment!
