needs much improvement

overpriced

so old!

the trop is falling apart. so are the rooms. we had a suite thinking it would be nicer. the couch in the room was older than me. the bed was hard. the lights were dim. the room was clean but i couldnt stand to be in it... i think its time to make some changes at the trop

Great room for the money

We booked this room as it was one of the cheaper hotels in Vegas. The prices on Fri/Sat nights skyrocket so it was affordable. The Tropicana Hotel and Casino is old and rundown and really caters for the older type crowd. It stinks of smoke as soon as you walk in.

Great room for the money

Enjoyed our stay...we took advantage of the 24 hrs/$24 buffet. For the price, the food was okay...try not to stuff yourself, though. Breakfast was our favorite of the 3 meals. elevators were timely, since Las Vegas was not too crowded!

You get what you pay for

Older hotel smells of smoke everywhere, even in non smoking rooms. The lower priced rooms tend to be located near where the busses and trucks load and unload. All staff was very helpful and friendly. Even though I started out by complaining, for the price paid we were satisfied with our stay.

HOTEL IS OKAY

The Tropicana Hotel and Casino was okay. I can see why I got the price that I did. The hotel is old and is in definite need of renovation; but the rooms were cleaned. The casino is small compared to some of the others; which is why I travelled to other casinos.

Needs Improvement

Very good service at the front desk - check in and check out. The rooms we were assigned were old, blankets torn, bath room tiles had mildew, elevator appeared to be worse than freight elevator. I would stay at this hotel again, subject to verification of the room condition.

Convenient location, nice property

Enjoyed the stay here as the property is conveniently located on the South Strip with easy access to other areas along the Strip (e.g. by bus), and also easy to get away from the Strip if we wanted to get in our car and drive somewhere else for a few hours (some properties on the Central Strip are more difficult to get to/from if you're driving yourself because of the volume of cars on the Strip at certain times). The casino was not as smoky as some others are. While parts of the property are a bit dated, they were doing renovations (Sept 2009) that we could see on some of the amenities and the pool-wing rooms. We really enjoyed using the pool area as it is more family-oriented. Overall had a really nice stay here.

Don't waste your time at the TROP!

This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! For the $ we paid, we should have stayed at motel 6. The floors were filthy & it smelled funny. We had to call housekeeping to change the sheets. They didn't change them before we checked in. IT WAS NASTY!!! We learned the hard way. DON'T WASTE YOUR $$$!!! GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Best value south strip

Older property, but we were upgraded to a tower room which was well maintained. Pool is excellent, no extra person charges like other strip hotels, just a small resort fee. Would stay again.
