Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 480Needs remodeling, badly.
Hotel is old, and shows it. They are, however, remodeling it this winter, and it would then, be a great place to stay. Close to everything, and the staff is second to none. Very friendly and helpful and seem proud to work there. Bed was horribly hard, and bathroom is run down and dated, but it WAS clean.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 480Parking and Cable Selection
I was upgraded to the Island Tower and that was nice. It turns out, there is parking in the back and the room was easy to get to without running through the whole casino. My biggest peave is what was available on the TV. They have CNN, CNBC, MSNBC. No Fox News. See the pattern?

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 480Hidden Fees
When I checked in the hotel charged a $9 per night "resort fee" on top of what I already paid through hotels.com. I sked what the fee was for, they told me it was for use of their pool and hot tub. Well on day 2 I went to use the hot tub only to find out the pool and hot tub were under renovation. So I was paying a fee to use something that doesn't exist. Bed was very worn out. TV had about 8 channels total. Parking lot is very small for a hotel that size. So a couple times we had to park in a remote overflow parking lot.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 480Its the Tropicana
One of the oldest hotels on the new strip dying for a renovation. You get what you expect here, a good hotel but if you are looking for overly fancy not recommended. A very fun and easy hotel to stay at nonetheles.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 480Great room for the money.
My only complaint is that the remodel/maintenance crew started their work right outside my room door at 7:00am. Very loud.
Hotel Response
I apologize that the renovation crew started work so early. I have brought this up to the Management Team and we have ensure that work does not being this early.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 480never again
The part of the hotel our room was in was very old & didn't seem to ever be upgraded. The bathtub and flooring needed repair. Too many partiers in our area of the hotel.
Hotel Response
I am sorry that your room did not meet your expectations. We are remodeling each and every room and bathroom, to be completed in Spring 2010.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 480Old but the price is right
This is an older hotel. There are some issues with the main areas being a bit "grubby". The room itself was fine and was spacious. The price was really good and two free tickets to the magic show and two free drink tickets were included. If you want deluxe this isn't the place but if you are on a budget you should consider the Tropicana.
Hotel Response
I am glad we seemed to meet your needs on this visit. I think after the renovations you will find us to be more then deluxe!

I was a bit surprised upon arrival that the Tropicana required additional moneys to stay there, I may have missed this when I booked the room. Other than that the hotel is older and needs some updating, but very convenient. I was told that they are going to update it by next year.
Hotel Response
The renovations are set to be complete in Spring 2010 and hope you come back to visit us again.
