Great location, good hotel.

Royal Ramblas has an outstanding location for the typical tourist - literally on Las Ramblas, and very close to the Catalunya metro location. Room condition was good - clean and decent, but smelled a bit stale when we first entered. Some "neighbors" down the hall smoked, and the smell carried into the room pretty heavily, although our room was definitely a non-smoking room. Had no trouble with noise (but we are from NYC, so we might just be used to it . . .) Hotel definitely felt secure, but we did use the room safe which worked fine. Overall, service was good, but we had to ask for extra soap to be delivered as the maids didn't replenish any toiletries automatically. The available mood music was a bit - er - interesting. Wifi internet was ridiculously expensive. Overall, a good hotel, and about what I expected when I booked.
