great value

Although the hotel is currently under a major renovation, it didnt inconvenience us at all. I would highly recommend a stay to anyone. Great value during the renovation.

Not worth the money

We stayed at two Hilton's during my recent trip, one in Richmond and this one in DC. The Richmond one was fantastic, and considerably cheaper. Hilton Washington was overpriced, the room was tiny and the view awful. We didn't even have a garbage can in our room or bathroom; we had to request one. The construction going on wasn't much of a bother, but parking for the hotel was almost 30 dollars a day, and there was no discounted rate for hotel guests. Plus, it was not exactly conveniently located near the metro stations, and the surrounding area, though not terrible, offered little in the way of food and entertainment. For all it's pomp and showiness, the hotel doesn't live up to expectations. I'd find somewhere else.

Nice remodling

The hotel has done an excellent job remodling the rooms! While there is still construction, and the parking is horrendous due to that, the hotel was fantastic inside. The service was also very good! They always seemed to go above and beyond.

Needs improvement

Furniture was old, bathroom was small and the toilet seat would not stay up, some staff were not friendly.

The hotel is inconveniently located, no one working there answers questions correctly. Parking is rediculous it costs way too much. And they charged my credit card without informing me. I do not recomment this hotel.

Expensive hotel with nickel and dime you to death

Nice hotel, but everything down to the weight room costs extra, and the room you get is ok, just not for the price.

Sleeping On the Floor would be more comfortable

I have never stayed at a hotel that has as uncomfortable beds as this place. I travel for a living and have stayed at some less than spectacular places, but this one takes the cake. The hotel is undergoing significant renovations (which I'm sure is part of the low pricing)... but I really wish I had paid more money and stayed somewhere else. I stayed for 2 nights and had a really hard time sleeping. The beds are very old and have "dents" in them where other people have slept, the walls are thin and you can hear other peoples phones ringing and them talking on their phones in adjacent rooms. I cannot believe that the Hilton company would ever have built a hotel like this - even before renovations. The price is definitely spectacular, especially for a Hilton. But if you're thinking "this is too good to be true" - you're right.

You may or may not get a room with a bed in it

I paid for a room for friends coming to town for a reunion. They gave my friends a "parlor room" that contained no beds, and just threw in some roll-aways. This was after I called twice to make sure they would get a room with two doublebeds. It was also after my friends arrived to check in and were told that they could either wait for an hour in order to get a room with two doublebeds or could have a parlor room (which was billed as having sofa beds) right away. They chose to wait for the doublebeds. When they came back to check in they were simply handed a key to a room, with no mention of it being anything other than what they'd requested (or a room with beds). They arrived in the room to find it was a parlor room with roll aways. There weren't even 2 pillows -- it took a half hour after they called the front desk for the pillows to be delivered.
