Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 38Pricey for what you get
Room smaller than other bargain chains. Hot water barely warm enough. Parking is pricey. Staff very courteous.

Hotel was excellent in every respect. Surrounding neighborhood is very active and very safe. My only complaint was the price of parking. I would love to spend another vacation there.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 38Great hotel with renovation pains
This is a beautiful hotel with a great restaurant. The rooms are great. The hallway is long and I was really far from the elevator. The hotel is undergoing renovation and for some reason that caused water on the bathroom floor at one point in my stay. The manager came quickly and promised an engineer would check it out. Housekeeping cleaned up the water but the engineers never showed. The problem did not re-occur. Some elevator doors stuck and had to be pried apart manually---a little scary. The coffeemaker did not work. The restaurant was wonderful---best bread I've had in a long time. I highly recommend the 100 mile menu...really fresh food taste and perfectly prepared. The hotel is considerably farther from Metro than I was led to believe on the Amata website and all uphill.

Staff was rude and not helpful. Room didnt have toileteries, had half used coffee. Had to pay for additional night's stay despite cancellation well in advance. Not recommended

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 38A Work in Progress
The Hotel is undergoing a 141 million dollar renovation (and it's tired and needs it) but they are working on it and around the construction and it did not cause me any trouble while I was there and the floor they did have done shows that when they do complete the work it will be a very good hotel again.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 38Construction noise not a problem
The rates at the Hilton were cheap because of the construction, but they stuck to their promise not to do any work except between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. When the work began, it wasn't unreasonably loud. The hotel was in very good condition and my room was very nice. It had climate control and new carpet, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and well-appointed. Absolutely worth the price.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 38Renovations... a major detractor
Would not stay here until renovation complete. The buzz saws started at 8 AM until at least 5 PM. There were many problems with the thermostat in my room, which were not fixed after a request for maintenence visit. Parking is $23 a day and located in a creepy garage with its own host of renovations (my car was covered in dust/dirt when I left due to this). I was not happy and left a day early, but was still charged for everything. I will not be returning.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 38Under construction
The hotel is under going a major renovation, however I definitely had a room in the un-renovated section. The only major complaint is that our room smelled faintly of smoke, which both my husband and I noticed but were able to ignore with the window open. The room and bathroom were dated and not exactly luxurious, but for the price we paid to stay in DC - where everything is priced outrageously - it was reasonable. If I had paid full price though, I might have been a bit more annoyed as there are far nicer hotels in the area.
