Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 16Great service...great hotel
For the price paid, hotel was great!Concierge was very helpful when we were looking to book some activities. Called us by name later when we walked by. Room was comfortable and clean, also with a great view of Port Everglades. Pools and hot tub were functional...great workout room.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 16Some problems
First morning at the hotel there was no hot water to shower. The valet lost my handicap placard. It took the hotel manager to find it. Apparently it blew out the car window when they were parking the auto. I've stayed at this hotel before, never had any problems before.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 16Very nice hotel!
My family and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 and I must say we were very pleased! Very beautiful hotel! Great pool that is open 24 hours a day. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room and spacious. GREAT VIEWS! The only thing I would say is that it is a bit pricey. You have to pay for parking and breakfast was expensive also. But other than that it was a very nice stay and I would recommend.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 16Parking staff did not know what they are doing.
I think parking price is fair. The staff is very bad. I think they used to work at Wal Mart and do not want to help the customers. Do not ask any more questions because they will tell you to leave. If I would stay there again, I may parking at the hotel across the street and walk to the hotel. Was that bad service? Yes.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 16Not too bad for the price, but shady charges
To begin this review, I'd like to mention that I am an open-minded person and see the glass as half full vs. half empty. So here's my opinion and the scoop on our stay. We traveled to Ft. Lauderdale to cruise with Royal Caribbean, so our stay was just a couple days at the Pier 66. The hotel was under construction which is understandable, but getting to an from the front desk area was very crammed with our family and luggage. The staff was somewhat friendly, I asked if their was a shuttle to take anywhere and the man at the front desk said "no". So we used the public transit and was the cheapest route for the four of us. This leads me to my "shady" comment in the header. As we were leaving, the man at the desk (a different one), said there would be a $12 charge for use of the shuttle to the beach, internet access, and other extra amenities. I was shocked because we were initially told there was no shuttle, and second, we didn't use any of these services. We booked our trip through hotels.com and paid for in advance, so the additional $12 charge is shady as we thought we were paid in full. The Pier 66 is nice if you want to be within a mile of Port Everglades, and we did walk about a mile to Einstein Bros for breakfast one morning. We saw the draw bridge and some other nice yachts and things that we have never seen before (we're from Utah). My son, 7 years old, enjoyed the pool area and the grounds are kept up for the most part. So overall, I may stay again, but I enjoy going to different hotels and resorts to get the different experiences.

We had terrible issues with the A/C in the room. The A/C was not cooling the room at a comfortable temperature. The first night, we tried to fix it by changing the temperature in the thermostast to no avail, the next day we reported it to front desk, they sent someone, yet the problem was not resolved.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 164-Star Hotel with 1-star Motel Quality
On Aug 28, 2007 my children and I stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66. To my chagrin upon check-in with the very unfriendly front desk person I was advised that it cost $20.00 to park my rental car overnight; they also don't tell you that most check-ins unless you book for the Tower stay in the lower 2-story motel rooms that surround the back of the hotel. Upon entry to our (motel) room, my kids and I were totally grossed out - there were splotches of dark brown on the doorways to the bathroom and main door, a slug in the bathroom, the tub was unsightly. The spread on one the beds was dirty. As we were tired we ended up staying for the night and checked out the next morning - to stay at another hotel down the street which I might add was a 3-star and far exceeded the Hyatt. Given their rating - the lower rooms in the 2-story buildings leave a bad taste and does not earn a 4-star rating may 1-star and 3 candles.

A few suggestions: Pool should be cleaned more ofter- a lot of cups, paper in the pool from night before. Bathroom can use some TLC - shower tile caulk needs replaces, corners around tub needs cleaned.
