It was comfortable with a nice atmosphere. It was conveniently located and within walking distance of shopping on Michigan Ave and numerous restaurants.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 50Convenient, well maintained, and comfortable
I travel about once a month - to give you a point of reference as to where this review is coming from. I recently stayed at this hotel for a conference at the nearby Navy Pier. The hotel was within walking distance, but for those who prefer to cab it it's a $5 ride. The hotel itself is in good shape, my room was comfortable, well furnished, clean. Minor wear and tear, but not dilapidated by any means. Staff was courteous, professional, and overall a good reflection of Chicago - I understand people are very friendly overall. I would recommend this hotel to business travelers, and would stay there again with family. Overall value was good. There are a lot of restaurants nearby, including Gino's Pizza.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 50Comfortable Beds - that's about it!
The bed in the room is extremely comfortable which is all that I can really say about this hotel. The room was dirty - there was dust all over the bedside tables. Maybe an oversight by the cleaning crew, but not what I would expect from this hotel. The front desk personnel were very friendly. The restaurant in the hotel offers few choices on the menu, so we had to walk several blocks to find restaurants. The additional $9.95 fee to use internet in the room is a rip-off; there is free Wifi in the lobby however. Oh, and the "lake view" is not a view! You can barely see the lake from the hotel location.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 50nice hotel
the area was great - the only thing that was misleading is that while the hotel is 3 blocks away from the magnificent mile, it isn't ON the magnificent mile; otherwise, the hotel was very nice & the staff was very helpful & friendly.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 50Nice
Overall a nice hotel in a great location. The beds were nice and plush. The only problem was the bathroom. The toilet was very noisey when flushed. and the sink was pretty, but had such a poor design that water was constantly spilling all over the back of the counter.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 50A great night out in Chicago
Registration/front desk staff was quite professional and courteous; concierge was very helpful finding/referring me to gay/lesbian night life. The room was nicely kept, clean, and quite comfortable. Very happy with the hotel, especially the rate from hotels.com when I booked it the same day.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 50Hotel Gym Is Closed
Once there I was told the Gym was being re-modeled, they offered me a pass at a local gym 2 blocks away. I would have picked a different hoeel had I known before I went!

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 50great hotel but minibar system needs improvement
In particular, I enjoyed the free access for hotel guests to an adjacent fitness center. Overall my stay was great! However my only complaint is the minibar system in the hotel rooms. The fridge and snack tray items were on weight sensors that charged your room when an item was lifted from its location. I had never seen such a thing before and started looking at the drinks in the fridge before I read the instructions. I felt like I had been tricked and that this was a sneaky way to get more money from hotel guests. I checked with the front desk and my handling of the products hadn't triggered the sensors and charged my room, so I was thankful I didn't have to go through the hassle of trying to remove charges from my account. I do not think that this type of minibar has any place in a hotel that values their customers. I felt insulted by it and my colleagues I spoke with at the conference I was attending at the Doubletree felt the same way.
