Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 17Don't dare to stay in this hotel
The costumer service in this place is awful. When I first checked in I was told that there would be a five day 100 dollar hold after check out and I agreed to that. After I checked out of the hotel, there was a 200 hundred dollar hold instead of the 100 that I had originally agreed to. This cost me to overdraw my bank account. When I called, the representative was very unhelpful and rude. Please do not stay here if you want your vacations to end with a huge headache. There is a hotel next door it’s got a great location a little bit more expensive (not by much). However, they offer great costumer service.

The room rates were good but the room wasnt what I expected. There was damage done to the walls, doors, and furniture. The continental breakfast was good and the view od the ocean was great. The hot tub was broken so it was just alot of cold water and the indoor pool was not in order. When you first check in you have to fill out a list af damages done to the room which was a hassle. And also the $100 dollar deposite per person is also a hassle especially when you want to do alot of things but don't have the monney because of the deposite. There was no pool side bar. It was just a bar where you bring your own drinks. The hotel seems like alot when in actuallity it is not.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 17So many let downs
From the moment I checked in my so called "ocean front" view was actually that of the parking lot then a empty lot and a small sliver of what is considered a ocean front view. The staff was not helpful when I called to complain. Nor was I given an apology or a better room. At check in I was charged extra for parking which was never explained before booking. The water in the shower would actually run hot then cold. The general appearance of the hotel seamed warn down and not taken care of. The front desk help was not knowledgeable about the local resturants or surronding bars. The last thing was the continental breakfast, it was poor at best. No selection, the juice machine was broken and the spread had zero presention. I would not recommend this place for anyone who expects minible service or standard accomodations.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 17Good Youth Group Spot
I brought a group of 27 kids and 6 adults and it was really a good stay for the money paid. The location is great, the pool area was really nice, and the hotel staff was very accomodating! The condition of the hotel isn't the greatest... I wouldn't go for vacation or anything, but it was great for our purposes.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 17Great location/staff... Rooms need Improvement
I read some horrible reviews about this hotel but decided to give it a shot anyways after I visited the lobby and it seemed nice and clean and the staff was wonderful. The lobby area is nice, and the pool area is fantastic, practically right on the beach. The staff was very friendly and accomadating (especially a front desk clerk named Sherry). But as soon as you step in the elevators to go to your room, you understand why they don't charge a lot to stay here. Everything was in need of renovation. The walls, the carpet, the tub, the sink, etc. Our room was clean, but a little worn out. We did have a great view of the beach as promised. And the room we stayed in had a FULL kitchen (stocked with plates, silverware, etc.) This hotel is in a great location... just a few miles from the downtown beach area, and there's plenty of places to eat right by the hotel. I would stay here again. It's a great deal for the price, but if you're looking for fancier accomadations then this isn't the hotel for you.

the hotel itself was nice enough, but there where a few things that did not work, hotel parking you had to pay for? some staff members where a little rude but i guess they had a bad day, i would stay again had a relaxing time.

We visited the Islander Resort in Daytona Beach for our spring break trip. There were a lot of college students on spring break during this time. I think this could be a major reason for the way that we were sterotypically mistreated. Although my fiancee and I are not the "partying" type of college students and are very responsible adults, we were treated like we were expected to be delinquents or something. The hotel staff was not nice at all. One of the maids was very rude and treated us like we were children. She stood at the door one day and told us to take our own trash out right then to the dumpster and to gather all of the towels up and give them to her. She stood at the door during this to make sure we were doing it right. I was astonished because I thought that was her job, not mine! The next day when I saw her down the hall I asked her for an extra trash bag she said I would have to wait until she came to our room. The hot tub that was advertised was out of order the entire trip. The indoor pool was disgusting. The hotel is very outdated. The bathrooms were dirty and the room smelled terrible. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 17Basically a dorm room
The hotel was clean and fine in all those respects, but was horrible in the way they treat thier guests. They have random checkins to make sure you onlyhave the correct number of people sleeping in your room at least once a day. The Islander makes you take out your own trash and do your own dishes. They only supply 2 dishes and charge you $100 if they arnt washed and put away when you leave. Treat the guests like children. Do not recommend.
