Rooms have not been redecorated in a long time. The water in the tub kept dripping. The air conditioner did not cool the room properly. Musty feeling.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 21OK Hotel for the money.
Our experience at this hotel was not the greatest. We had to pay $200 deposit($100 per adult). We stayed on the 6th floor which had an ice machine which was nice. but it seemed as if there was no air conditioning on that floor and it smelled like mildew everywhere. You will have to PAY for Parking asd well, which i thought was ridiculous.when we checked in, they made us inspect the room, fill out paperwork listing anything already damaged, then bring it back down to the lobby.(annoying)Before checking out we had to wait for someone to inspect the room to make sure nothing was damaged, if so deposit would not have been refunded.Overall we did not care for the hotel that much but i guess you get what you pay for.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 21Nice for the Money
This hotel is great for those on a budget or trying to save a little cash. The room and appliances are dated and could benefit from some remodeling. But, for the price, who can complain. The refrigerator didn't work. Maintenance quickly fixed it. The toilet leaked. Maintenance quickly fixed it as well. The hotel's staff was very helpful and friendly. Everything was clean, and the pool was well-maintained. There proved to be ample parking which is different than a lot of other hotels in the area. They do charge $5/night parking so be ready for that. A lot of hotels in the area do that. In fact, we cancelled our stay at a different hotel in the area that tried to charge us $5/night to park across busy A1A in a parking lot on a side street.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 21Get what you pay for
That sums it up. It was a good place to rest your head at night, but other than that there was nothing too spectacular. The pillows were hard and they said they didnt have any more to give us, the fire alarm went off at 3a.m. the bath tub had an air bubble under it. But on the other end, it was right on the beach, there was a tiki bar, pool, hot tub, and the view was amazing.

Very old, lot of things broken. Not updated at all. Bed appeared to be very old.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 21Paying to park and a $100 deposit??
As soon as my boyfriend and I, both in our early twenties, approached the front desk to check-in we were greeted with an attitude. Apparently The Islander assumes all guests under the age of thirty are only there to party and cause trouble. We were only staying one night, but were required to leave a $100 deposit because we are both under the age of 27. We also had to pay to park! Over 6 bucks to park at your own hotel? It's cheaper to park on the actual beach! The indoor pool was closed for "maitenance" and the pool bar was never open during our stay. The room was adequate clean and it appears all rooms have a beach view.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 21Wonderful place for a wonderful price
The staff was top notch and friendly no matter the time. The location was right on the beach and within walking distance of half a dozen resteraunts and places to eat. The also offered free samples each day we were there and that's something I've never seen before. I would recomend this hotel without a second thought and in fact will be staying there again in the future.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 21Not Dog Friendly $$$$$
Overall the place was good. But the hidden costs: parking, deposits, dogs. Nowhere does it mention an additional fee for a 10 Lb. dog. Yet they demanded 20 dollars per night extra and would not refund my prepay if I went somewhere else.

The hotel was great for the price, has more than expected in room. although it is a bit old and needs some cosmetics, I strongly recomend it
