Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 23Perfect Location for us
We expected to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room, but their only rooms w/these items had only Queen beds. We changed to a room with the fridge and microwave and did not sleep very well in the Queen bed. The next day we opted to change back to a room with a King bed despite not having a refrigerator and microwave. The office was very accomodating and offered their office fridge and microwave for our use. We stayed in that room the rest of our stay and we were very comfortable.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 23Good place for the price.
Free HBO, comfy beds, and a free breakfast. The breakfast was what you usually find when staying in a motel, bagels, coffee, etc. The neighborhood looked a little rougher than the other parts of salt lake city, but overall I thought it was a good place considering the price, and that they allowed dogs. I will probably stay there again if I ever come back.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 23Basic Room, Great Location
The location was excellent for downtown SLC. People working there were nice and helpful. The room was basic, but definitely worthwhile for the one night I stayed.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 23Solid hotel with Some Unkown facts...
The hotel staff, room and breakfast were wonderful. The pool, unbeknownst to us when we registered, was closed, a big disappointment. Also, I missed the part that said that they had a FREE airport shuttle. It was handy on the way back.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 23A few things
I was not aware there would only be a shower and not a shower/bath. The bed was fine, but the pillows were terrible, lumpy and useless. Also, there was not a great selection of channels to choose from. We never could log on to our "free" wireless internet, but there was a computer in the lounge area. However, when we went to use it, the man at the front desk made it incredibly awkward by talking loudly on his cell phone with his wife, asking her continuously if she wanted a divorce. We left the area quickly. The complimentary breakfast was adequate at best. Overall, if you need the bare minimum for a place to stay, this would be fine. It was clean, and our room was cleaned every day.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 23Good room for the money
The hotel service was not stellar, but we were comfortable the majority of the time. Several times we left and came back to find our room with the bed still unmade and no clean towels. Other than that, it was comfortable enough. Continental breakfast was not extremely imaginative but it did the job. Desk service was fine, but no one was overly welcoming.

The location of the hotel is good. It's just a walking distance to the convention center. Breakfast is good. The customer center is good. The room has a noisy air conditioner and stops after a few minutes.

2 block walking distance to downtown but far enough away to avoid noise et al. One block from UTA train stop. It was quiet during my stay. Breakfast was simple and room furnishings were average. Overall was a value for their rates. Will stay there again on future trips to Salt Lake.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 23The place smells bad
This is a very old motel with old plumbing, old everything. They were doing construction in the lobby the day we arrived, very messy and loud. Staff was plesant. Bathrooms old, carpet old, air conditioning very LOUD.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 23Great room for the money
The room was very comfortable and clean. It was an added bonus to have free wireless internet connection so I could keep up with projects. The continental breakfast each morning was not just sweet rolls and coffee--there was toast, freah fruit, cereal, good orange juice (not the stuff that you wonder what kind of oranges did this come from), all at a serve-yourself kitchenette that was very adequately supplied. Personally, I think a clean place to sleep at night is very important, but with all the extras that Howard Johnson's provided, it made the trip to Salt Lake City that much better. Thank you!
