needs improvement

i was not happy with this hotel because when i got there and checked in we went to room and i got in the bed and layed down then i got up and read everthing in the room and looked around the room didnt look like a 4 star room the bathroom was very nice thats the only thing that looked good in that room. so after that we left for the night and when got back i notice that someone from the hotel went into the room when we gone and they put a candy on the bed and left a note saying that the water would be off for 2 hours in the morning right before checkout . so i took a bath that night so for that very nice bathroom while the bathtub had a leek and water went everywhere so that was something that i had to clean and i put a towel around the area that was leeking so i could finsh my bath.

This Hotel is AMAZING!!!! There is nothing cookie-cutter about this establishment- FAR exceeded my expectations-- I dont want to stay anywhere else when I visit Houston-

Fabulous Hotel

Great location and services. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing that could be improved would be for the hotel to have longer breakfast hours in the restaurant.

Hotel is Nice, Service is Awful

Service in the restaurant, Voice, was extremely slow and inattentive. Room service was repeatedly delayed and never delivered.

Cozier night than planned

The hotel was nice, but we stayed on a night when the hotel was completely booked. We had 3 people and were supposed to have 2 double beds. Instead, we had 1 king bed. When I went to the front desk they said they were sorry, but all the dbl/dbl rooms are gone. They said they would send a rollaway. Two hours later they brought up a twin blow up mattress. Unfortunately, the mattress had a leak. We called down to the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do. The 3 of us slept in the king bed. When we checked out the front desk manager waived our $26 valet charge.

Unique Hotel for a Great Price

I would recommend this hotel for someone who is trying to break out of the hotel chain rut! This hotel was fantastic! It was a renovated bank and it really kept with the 1920's art-deco look of the original building. The location in downtown was perfect. We were going to a game at the ballpark and it was only a short 10 minute walk. As for the rooms, the were nicely decorated and spacious. One feature I enjoyed was the double shower head in our bath room. It was a great. The staff was helpful and attentive, the valet staff was stupendous. Because the hotel has valet, our car wasn't always available, so the valets were extra helpful in retrieving some items I had left inside. I would stay here again.

Cozy, and Clean Hotel

Great Hotel with very nice staff. Excellent swanky bar. Loved atmosphere. Decor is great. Can't miss with this one.

Hotel Icon was a very nice experience!

Hotel Icon was undergoing renovation to their restaurant when we stayed there, so the lobby and restaurant/bar were not in their normal location, but even with that inconvenience the hotel was a value! Great rooms and close to the theater district and clubs, etc. The rail system is literally just a step outside the door and they have a car which will take you to downtown destinations which we also took advantage of. Rooms were large with great bathrooms and halls were very quiet for a peaceful sleep! My only complaint was that sometimes (we were there 3 days) the front desk and guest services staff on duty were not familiar with many Houston landmark/locations and could not help with suggestions for things to do, beauty salons, etc. and there were no brochures available either. But I did have a portable Garmin with me, so it was not a big issue. I would definitely stay there again!
