oustanding hotel. very elegant

u get a complimentary drink upon arrival. the hotel was very elegant with wonderful staff. the bar is very nice.the parking is valet and u have to pay. but the price of the hotel and the quality is wll worth it. we will definately stay here when we are downtown houston.

Wonderful Service

Stayed overnight for first date with my husband since our son was born. It was great! Very convienent to the Metrorail and the rooms were comfortable and neat. Service was exceptional and the staff truly went out of their wasy to make sure we were comfortable.

The hotel has a great decor combining the historical bank building with some more modern elements. The bar has a great selection of whiskeys of all price ranges. The bathroom in the deluxe king room is enormous with a large tub shower and its own window.

Pricey But Nice Hotel

Just note that the hotel does have valet parking only and they charge you quite a bit to valet park each night. The location was not as convenient as I thought it would be to a lot of the local attractions. The bed was not extremely comfortable, and overall, the room wasn't anything fancy as far as decor and bedding. The bathroom did have a really nice shower and jetted tub. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was no excess noise heard from other rooms or the hall; it was nice and peaceful. The hotel does have a nice, but pricey restuarant on location as well as a bar lounge. It also has a nice, but somewhat pricey day spa that provides the works. The gym is extremely nice if you like to workout. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a downtown nightclub scene and doesn't mind spending quite a bit extra beyond the cost of the room.

Awesome setup

The hotel was nice, the valet parking was a definitely pricey and the free drink to each of us was definitely a plus, but our favorite part was the setup of the room. The bathroom had a separate shower and bathtub and had an window-like opening from the bathroom into the bedroom. Very nice.

nice stay

I stayed one night at this hotel on Saturday to a Sunday. The downtown nightlife, the Voice in the main lobby, and the overall hotel staff were all nice. There was a delay with checking in because my reservation was some how lost but the hotel offered complimentry drinks at the bar which I felt were accomadating being we had to wait only 20 mins or so til they found it. Loved the attention to detail and the lavish feel the room and bathrrom had. The bed was extra plush and my only complaint was that room service wasn't 24 hrs a day! Frank's Pizza located in downtown Houston, delivered instead!!

A suprise fee !!! Great hotel though !

The stay at the hotel was wonderful, but we were greeted with a fee 0f 27.00 dollars per night to park in valet, and that was the only parking they had. Either you feed the meter until six or park valet for a pricey amount !!! Still a wonderful hotel !

Neat, Fun Place

I loved this place! It was really cute and different than any other hotel I've stayed in. The architecture and decor were gorgeous, and I loved the cute little cowboy rubber duckie! I did not like the bathroom situation; that is, there was no fan and the doors were wooden so I didn't feel like I had much privacy. The jacuzzi bath made up for it, though. I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, with the exception of the bartender. Overall, though, I enjoyed my experience.

Beautiful Hotel

Room and Bathroom were Gorgeous. Valet parking is $27, no ice machines, you have to call room service. Our hot water was not working and the coffee pot didn't work. Hotel is beautifully decorated and our room was comfortable.

Outstanding and beautiful hotel.

Very friendly staff, beautifully decorated lobby, well appointed and clean rooms, very quite (we even had a room near the elevator hall), classy bar/lounge, free limo to/from downtown destinations. Well situated downtown (i.e. easy to walk around) with a great jazz bar (Red Cat) across the street and several bars nearby. Very pleased with our stay. TIP: Park in the street (Free after 6 pm, Monday-Saturday and all day Sunday) and avoid the hotel’s $27 overnight parking fee.

Beautiful Experience

Great restaurants short walk away, hotel exudes opulence of days gone by. Keep in mind this is an old building, the rooms are not huge, but that is a non factor considering the decor this hotel has. Check out the wine room and gym even if you do not use them. Would stay here again and again, one day we will splurge and stay in the rooftop suit with private bar/patio overlooking downtown.

Exceeded out expectations. High quality everything!

For my wife and myself we both were impressed with the exceptional quality that we were surrounded by from the lobby, restaurant, hallways, and our room. The bathroom and bedroom were all above our expectations. We received more than what we paid for. We will return again.
