Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 46Not the best stay but definitely not the worst
The room was clean except for a couple mystery hairs and a cigarette burn near the jacuuzi (in a non smoking room). I was expecting the room to be a little bigger as Most 4.5 star hotel rooms do not feel as cramped as this one. I booked the hotel from hotels.com and got billed by Hotels.com but the Hotel billed my credit card for my reservation as well. This led me to have to take time out of my workday to call customer support to get things handled. Hotels.com support team was great and attentive and got to the bottom of the situation quickly. Kudos to them. The bar at hotel icon closes too early. The food was good but overpriced and the portions are small. In my opinion skip the restaurant and bar and head out on the town. Also beware this hotel and others are using valet parking as another way to nickel and dime their patrons. 28 dollars to park my car overnight? You must be out of your mind.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 46Great, Stylish hotel
great hotel! Room was clean and comfortable with a huge bathroom. My only complaint was that they only had valet parking, and it cost almost $30/day.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 46relaxing and beautiful
i had a wonderful two nights. i had a room with a tub which was huge and relaxing. the rooms are very lovely and comfortable. the entire hotel is beautifully detailed. i was just sorry to see that the new owners ruined the lobby. the original design was world class.. the new lobby is cluttered and confused (even tho the materials and furnishings are extremely nice and pretty). also the whiskey bar has been closed. at least they didnt tear it out. its still there if you ask to go look at it. the only problem with the hotel is the location. its OK. theres just nothing very great about the location. it IS easy to get to some fun downtown neighboorhoods.. but dont plan on walking anywhere for dinner. The theaters are nearby and so are the museums etc.. so thats good! i would stay there again in a heartbeat. excellent place to stay. just wish the lobby was more inviting as a hang out.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 46Horrible!!
No wonder this hotel is always "on sale"...do not be fooled! Nothing good to say about this place. The people are rude and I cannot believe it's still considered a 4 star...it's not even close! There are so many other hotels in this area, steer clear of this one!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 46Nice
Hotel Icon is in a great location for downtown Houston- close to bars, restaurants and business. The hotel is in very good shape and decorated nicely. I stayed in a deluxe room that was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom had a lovely tub for a hot bath. It was all very clean and well loved. Voice, the hotel restaurant, was great and very handy for entertaining friends. The staff were wonderful as well. I left my sunglasses at the table and they saved them for me. This hotel is pet friendly which is a MUST for me.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 46Great Houston Hotel
The Hotel Icon was wonderful. We went to Houston for my uncle's funeral, a somber trip. The hotel reminded me of a French chateau. Giant jacuzzi bath tube which overlooked the sleeping area was very nice. I would recommend this hotel to any Houston traveler.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 46not a 4.5 star hotel
Hotel did not meet a 4.5 star hotel. The unique style was neat but no pool and the spa was closed. They did provide a nice shuttle service which was nice

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 46Amazing Hotel
Room amenities weren't exactly as described on the hotels.com website. I had a printout of the room I thought I was getting and Hotel Icon upgraded to a better room for us. The entire staff was very gracious and accomodating. Would definately stay there again and would recommend it to others. Beautiful Hotel inside and out and exceptionally clean. I do, however, suggest calling the hotel before you commit to making reservations just to make sure you are getting the room that is advertised.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 46Great hotel and great location
This was a wonderful hotel. We only stayed one night. We walked over to Sambuca jazz cafe and ate dinner and listened to the great band. I loved the decor of the hotel. Room service breakfast wasn't the best though!
