Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 71Would be great hotel if had different management and front staff.
The manager was very rude and one of the front desks girls did something very unappropriate to me. You have no personal privacy at this hotel and they will give your personal information to anyone that calls into the hotel questioning about you. No Privacy!!

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 71Timeless Grandeur and great Staff
This hotel was not in the best location, it was a little difficult to find the valet parking. However the rooms and staff were great. Received a free upgrade to a Penthouse which was wonderful if you love the charm of a period hotel. Everything was great but I am not a big fan of the vintage look.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 71Best Deals in Downtown Houston
The Icon is a wonderfully renovated old bank building on the northern end of Main Street in downtown Houston on the light rail line. The rooms are wonderfully outfitted with interesting baths (either deep soaking tubs or stall showers with multiple heads). The restaurant is first rate. The workout room has all the necessary cardio and strength equipment. There are almost always good deals on the price here.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 71Best Downtown Hotel
I was surprised at the size of my room, which was large for a city hotel. It was nicely decorated and very clean. The restaurant (I ate at the bar) was creative and the food excellent. Outstanding service throughout the hotel. I found a new favorite in Houston.

Plus: Roomiest shower I've ever seen. Minus: It took a while for the water to turn on. Plus: Large bathroom Minus: Bathroom lighting was a bit dim, especially for shaving. Minus: No ice machines Plus: They brought ice promptly when asked. Plus: Nice bar & restaurant Minus: Didn't get a requested wake up call Plus: Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Great upscale experience. The Hotel food is extrodinary but a pricey. The thing to change would be access to an airport shuttle that is not $55 one way. Mark

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 71Great if you want to be downtown
The ICON is an excellent hotel. I was very satisfied. I selected it to be downtown, knowing there was some chance that all of the surrounding area might not be the best. The hotel is on the new rail line, which is great. Part of the neighborhood is being redeveloped, which is great.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 71Good Value - Over-ranked
Nice hotel. Classic Traditional feel. Was a good value for me. Nice gym, classy upscale restaurant. Hotel gave a good vibe. Room was nice. Big open bath/shower with slightly smaller living space. Desk offered a less than ideal sitting chair, not really meant to be 'sat' in. Located around alot of nice restaurants, mass transit right off main street, good running though a little sketchy at times around the Bayou towards memorial park. A lot of vacant retail space around suggests the area has lost some business recently. Great gym. Lacks a pool if you are in need. It would be nice if the spa/gym had a steam room or other simple features in lieu of a pool. Room had a used tissue in the toilet and another on the vanity when I checked in. Not the kind of thing that bothers me a lot as the room was otherwise clean but not great attention to detail on their part.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 71Outstanding Hotel, Perfect location, Great checkin experience
I had a very nice time at the hotel, I was there for a business trip and " Elias jabbe" at the Check-in counter was amazing and very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area and the surrounding locations. he was friendly, along with other hotel employees who were always smiling and friendly. The room is immaculate , spacious and clean.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 71It was really nice
We arrived earlier than check in time and they attempted to make accommodations for us. We had to sit another two hours but we got an upgrade so it was really nice. The room was beautiful with a city view and the front desk people were polite. They have free shuttle within a three mile radius. But after check in its pretty hard to get bell service for anything.
