Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 259Even better than expected
My wife and I booked Harrah's for four nights (11/1/09-11/5/09) and could not have been happier with our stay. We were a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but had a comfort level as we had stayed there four years ago. Like all the reviews state, the location is super. Right in the middle of the strip. Our room was on the 19th floor (carnival) and was super clean with everything updated and in good working order. The staff was friendly, buffet outstanding and waitress for the most part pretty attentive. Can't say we won anything but then again we are not big gamblers. We won't hesitate staying their again. Now for our tips to save a few bucks. 1) Take the deuce(double decker bus). A three day pass is only $15 and it takes you any where you want to go up and down the strip. 2) Do not miss downtown. It is really party central with cheaper slot machines and flowing drinks. 3)Harrah's buffet. Get their at 2:45 and they charge you for lunch and put out the dinner items at 3:00. 4)McDonald's next door. Really a must because there are no coffee makers in the room. 5)Use total rewards cards. You don't have to gamble alot to probably get free offers somewhere down the road from Harrah's. Hope all this helps.

I recieved an upgrade to an executive suite when I checked in. The room was spacious and clean. There was an energy saving feature on the thermostat for the A/C. This automatically increased the setting during the day when nobody was in the room due to sensors. The made the room warmer than expected and warmer than the hallways, so it felt hot walking in the room, even though the temperature was in the 70's. While a person was in the room, the thermostat would go back to your setting. There is a fridge in the room. The room also had a hot tub, but it was not working properly. There is a mini-store that sells drinks, beer, and tobacco products on site. The piano bar in the casino is a ton of fun. There are identical twins who lead the dueling piano show. These ladies are very talented, but crowd participation will make or break the show. There is a countyard between Harrahs and The Imperial Palace that contains a bar with a dance floor along wtih a live band. There are several tourist's type vendors there along with a liquor store. This place also has a station for the manorail. There are automatic check out features you can use to when you are ready to leave, but if you have a problem that needs to be addressed with the front desk, you can't use these. Unfortantly there are no seperate desks to handle check ins and check outs. There was a lot of people waiting to check in at 11:00 in the morning while I was wanting to check out. The line and wait was to long. So if you do not want to use the automatic check stations, make sure you check out early in the morning. The bell desk will hold your bags until you are ready to leave. If I continue to get the great rate that I recieved through hotels.com, I will stay at Harrahs again.

I found it disturbing that the air conditioning was on in the hotel but one wall that led into a pavilion was completely open.... no doors. It was not energy efficient. The beds weren't very soft. All else was good.

The room was spacious and the queen beds comfortable. The bathroom needs updating though...regular tub with shower curtain and inadequate ventilation so that the mirror fogged up. Nice location on the Strip and ample self-park...I don't do valet. The pool was small, and offered no shade. Front desk check-in went smoothly and quickly. No fridge. Overall nice experience.
