Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 20Good Hotel and Location
It was a good hotel and great location. You could catch the sightseeing bus nearby and lots of places to eat. The rooms were a bit small and no air conditioning. The room did have a fan on a stand in it and the weather was not too hot in May when we were there.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 20Great Hotel
We were very pleased with The Strand Palace, the location was great making moving around the city easy. The room (Club Double) are smaller than US, but we expected that, they were well maintained. The buffet breakfast was very nice, well worth the price. We did not use the restaurant or bar in this hotel because there were many nice place around the area.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 20Great Location - No air conditioning
Great location for theater, historic sites, trains and buses. The hotel concierge and luggage check staff were a bit stuffy. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Room was a good value. We were there in Spring and the room was pretty warm, so we opened the window. Summer could get too hot with no air conditioning.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 20"Old Reliable" in the Perfect Location
I have stayed at the Strand Palace off and on for more than 25 years because, especially at this price level, you cannot beat the location: easy walk to theaters, shopping, and museums. It has been consistently reliable in terms of cleanliness, service and safety but had become a bit dowdy; now it has been refurbished and my club floor room sparkled. Rooms could use some amenities - no minibar, no clock - and restaurants are ordinary at best (no problem, given the variety of food available in nearby Covent Garden). The location, comfortable rooms, lobby internet facilities, helpful concierge, and terrific doorman all add up to a very pleasant stay. I'll keep going back.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 20Great location
The location of this hotel, in the middle of theatre district, is one of its best quality. Lots of plays in the area, short bus to Tralfalgar Square, Picadilly Circus, and other landmarks. Only a short walk from Covent Garden.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 20Not "a Palace"
Stayed at The Strand Palace Nov. 2008 - and while the location is good, the service and hotel conditions were somewhat less-than-expected for what I paid. My view was of other interior walls - and a dead pigeon, caught in some wire. And, after a day out sightseeing, I returned to a hotel with only one working elevator - and had to climb 6 flights of stairs up and down for dinner. Staff was 'adequate' - but not always pleasant.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 20Excellent location
I read the reviews before I went, but the location is EXCELLENT and the price is reasonable. The rooms may be small, but they are comfortable. Are you going to London to stay in the hotel room--probably not. The sites in London are what you want and this is a perfect location. The service from the staff was great. The room would be uncomfortable in the summer due to lack of A/C, but we were quite comfortable with the window open.
