Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 69Nice, clean but no bells and whistles.
Customer service here is excellent. Room was clean and bed very comfy. Hotel room still shows some age although lobby area is very nice. I would have appreciated a refrigerator and brighter lights in the room. I did have one big problem. When I got home, I found some charges made on the credit card I used to swipe there for incidentals. I'm not accusing but the charges appeared the day I swiped my card and were made online. I had to cancel my card and get a new one. Thanks God my credit card company monitors suspicious activity. For this reason only, I will not be staying there again. Other than that (which is pretty significant), the hotel is fine and the added breakfast in the morning is very convenient. This hotel is a short walk to the superdome and to the French Quarter.

When hotel is finished it is going to be fantastic. Great location to French Quarter. Nice staff...over all it was a pleasant stay.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 69Nicer than expected
This hotel was in a great location, and walking distance to the French Quarter. It was under renovation, so some areas where not very pleasant to the eye, but my room was AMAZING! The front desk staff was helpful in terms of recommending places to eat. The wireless Internet service wasn't working, so that was quite disappointing. Parking was also a challenge.

Noisy construction work on a portion of the property caused 2 early morning awakenings. The water was turned off for 4 hours one day during my stay.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 69Great hotel
My sister and I went to a conference in New Orleans and stayed at this hotel. It had recently been remodeled and looked like a 5 star hotel. The beds were very comfortable and I was surprised at the feeling of luxury - considering this was a "2 star" hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 69Great room...for the price
please keep in mind we only stayed here for one night...The hotel isn't the easiest place to find, and we have a gps in the car...sign age was limited to a neon sign on the corner, and we had to drive around a few times, and ask a girl standing outside where exactly the hotel was. The exterior of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired as does the lobby...looks as is a renovation had began, but never completed. However, the room was able to make up for the dated exterior and lobby. We booked a single, but were upgraded to a suite. This worked out great considering that we were flipping coins in the car to decide which two of the three were going to get the beds. The suite came with a fold out bed in the couch. Turned out to be much nicer than anticipated. The location of this hotel is certainly its best asset. Walking distance to the french quarter, the warehouse district, the casino and fulton street.

I new that the hotel was under going renovations, There were no problems with the room. parking was full so I was directed by the front desk personnel to park in a parking garage just around the corner from the hotel. It was 20.00 a day. I have come to expect fees like that from new orleans, I would stay again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 9 of 69Great hotel and good location
This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The room was newly remodeled and the decor was stylish. The front desk staff was also incredibly helpful with directions and even suggestions for restaurants. The only disappointment was the Internet access. The wireless connection wasn't working and the only resolution was to try and log on in the lobby. There were several guests attempting to use their laptops in the lobby, which should have prompted the hotel to do more to find out what was wrong. Overall a great stay for a great price, and walking distance from the French Quarter.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 69Great room for the money
The hotel lobby area was still under construction when we stayed there. However, the rooms had been recently renovated and were very nice. The bed was comfortable...but the sheets were a little rough (they should invest in softer ones!) Some rooms have no outside view...the view you get is to the interior of the hotel. It was very quiet and the the front desk and all other employees were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again, it's tucked back between larger buildings, but it is centrally located to the amazing neighborhods and restaraunts in New Orleans.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 69Good for the price
For the price we paid through hotels.com, this was a great deal for the location (right next to the French Quarter). It appeared that some of the hotel was being renovated or madeover (for instance, no access to a business center) but that didn't really bother us - everything is walking distance anyways.

Room was clean, staff was fast and friendly, only negatives were no full length mirror or bath fan. I've stayed in far worse for more money.

Very nice place and within walking distance to the French Quarter. Construction was going on but did not take away from our stay.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 15 of 69Rude Manager
We stayed at Baronne Plaza two non-consecutive nights. They have furniture blocking the fire exits, and are doing tons of construction and the gym and restaurant are closed. I had to ride in an elevator full of TV's and barely had room to stand. To top it off, I called the hotel to ask about adding an extra person to our reservation, they said, "no problem, there is a $xx charge." I got here and it was a problem. It was the amount they said to stay, then that same amount again to have a cot to sleep on. The manager had a horrible attitude, talked over me and raised her voice. The rooms are "renovated", which apparently means updated beds and shoddy workmanship, especially in the bathroom. The entire floor of the lobby is covered in a layer of dust due to the construction, and no one seems concerned about getting it clean. When coming to the Big Easy, do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel like the plague.
