The hotel appeared to be a nice hotel online and in person. The type of room that was booked was not available when we got there and the front desk staff was rude and not accomodating. They did not do anything in their advantage to be accomodate me or my travel companiion and suggested that we take a room that they made availabel and move to another room in the middle of our stay. When we requested to speak to the Manager on Duty she was not available and she never followed up with us during our stay to check on how things were going. I will never stay in this hotel again. I was shocked at the lack of customer service that the staff conveyed. In addition, housekeeping would loudly knock on the doors to request to clean the rooms when there were DO NOT DISTURB SIGNS on the door knob. This was a shocking experience. Too bad for this company that they have lost a customer.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 14Great value---very hospitable.
We've stayed on Jarvis St. before and like it's slightly-off-the-beaten-track convenience. This hotel is wonderfully casual and doesn't feel at all big--- which is just what we like. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean, had a good open view to the North and had a very comfortable bed plus a separate sitting area with its own TV---a new, flat screen model. Bathroom, though small, was clean as was the rest of the room and common areas. The pool is positively baroque in atmosphere. Breakfast buffet was quite sufficient and included in our room rate. Parking was a little high ($19/day self-park) but super convenient and we might have saved some money parking in the open lots next door or across the street. In all, this is a very pleasant, convenient place to stay---a couple blocks East of all the action you'd want. A nice walk due West gets you to the AGO, Chinatown, etc. We'll definitely stay here again!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 14Delightful Stay
This is a great hotel. There are hot-tubs on the roof deck! There is a pool. The beds were luxurious and ultra comfortable. I do not recommend Toronto on a Monday night - but it is an attractive city.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 14Great place, especially for the price
Everything about the hotel, from the hotel itself to the staff, was great. The breakfast buffet wasn't great, but it certainly served its purpose. Our suite was spacious enough and very clean. The hi-def flat panel TV was a nice touch. Overall, we were very pleased and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 14Great For Money! Loved Breakfast
The Grand was great for the money but the hotel was a bit far from the Caribana Action...or any action. We took shuttles and cabs everywhere. The pool was murky and slothy so we opted out of that. The hot tubs looked nice but we chose not to use it. We did however use the gym. My boyfriend was not happy about their lack of an adequate bench to do his presses. I absolutely loved the complimentary breakfast though, they were a bit strict about bringing food to your room- probably because they want to tip; I gathered this because they handed us a check for $0.00. The food staff were a bit sarcatic but we enjoyed it as much as they did. Room service was very slow. The rooftop view was amazing! We even spotted a rainbow after a sun shower- a great one for the camera! The neighborhood was shady. It seems as though their were a lot of drug addicts and some recovering/ backsliding druggies too. I enjoyed the stay but nect time I will go somewhere else. I guess you get what you pay for.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 14Wonderful Experience
This hotel offered all the amenities and was a wonderful experience to enhance our stay in Toronto. We ended each day with time in the hot tubs on the roof.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 14Exquisite Hotel
We absolutely loved the hotel. The staff was fabulous. They were a great help from choosing the type of room for us to stay in, (which no other hotel has ever done). The rooftop jacuzzi is unbelievable. I would reccommend this hotel to everyone. I can't wait to stay there again.
