The neighborhood was better than expected. We walked about 6 blocks to a large complex with theatres and restaurants and did not feel unsafe. It was fairly busy even at 10 pm on a Sunday night. The hot tubs on the roof were enjoyable and the views very nice. Room could have been cleaner. With the trend toward very dark furniture, hotels have to be better at dusting. Felt like the bathroom needed a good cleaning in the corners. Toilet, sink and tub were fine; but the corners were neglected. Breakfast was better than expected . . . many more items than a continental-type spread.

Would recommend with reservations

While the Grand was in a convenient, if somewhat seedy, area that is obviously undergoing improvement, the free breakfast was very good and the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, there are a few things that were not up to expectations. First, no one was present in front of the hotel when we pulled up in the very small front parking area. We figured out for ourselves that we should park in the side parking area, register and then self-park the car. The concierge mentioned on the web site was non-existent as far as we could tell. Finally, the sofa bed mattress was somewhat V-shaped and generally uncomfortable.

OUTSTANDING HOTEL

We loved this hotel! We were on the 17th floor and the view was magnificant. the jacuzzi is on the roof and you can see all of Toronto. The view at night is amazing! The buffet breakfast is not to be believed!! The value puts other hotel to shame. The bathroom is a bit small but I could put up with that for the wonderful breakfast every morning! They also have a shuttle that will take you to the downtown area free of charge which is a nice feature. I will stay here again for sure!

We loved The Grand!

We were in Toronto for a few days to see the sights and have some fun. The Grand Hotel was grand! The service of Bellman Brad was outstanding. He not only helped us with bags, taxis, directions but also was a concierge offering ideas for good places to eat and experience. He suggested Le Petite French restaurant which was great and resonably priced. The front desk staff and the housekeeping staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and all was good. The indoor pool and whirpool area was very luxurious. and the 2 whirpools on the roof were very cool and fun with great views and music videos on the big wall! Even in the driving sleet one night! All-in-all a great place and time at the Grand Hotel!

Acceptable room for the $.

The room could stand some refurnishing. Couch and chairs are rather threadbare.

Great view of city and close to everything

The hotel staff was nice, but the room layout was strange. The bathroom door was right near the bed and the room smelled like cleaner when I got there. The view on the rooftop was amazing, but the hot tub area was dirty in the morning with bottles, cups, towels. The breakfast was average. The best thing about the hotel is the view from the rooftop. Room service food was also just ok. Nothing to rave about. Overall I enjoyed it more because of how great Toronto is more so than the hotel

outstanding hotel

Iv went through alot of trial and error by staying at many hotels in the Toronto area threw the years and finally with the Grand Hotel im able to stop searching for the perfect hotel as far as location and quality. It was wonderful to relax on the roof top and be able to enjoy the relaxing spas with a wonderful view of the city and debut a huge projection screen tv for entertainment. Thank u for a fantastic experience and will be sure to stop in again soon and i recommend everyone and anyone to use this hotel as yer next choice when traveling to the great city of Toronto

Outstanding Value

We were totally impressed with the Grand Hotel & Suites Toronto. For the price we paid, we were dazzled and impressed. Lots of "wow" wrapped up into that low price! Very personable staff, comfortable room and great breakfast buffet. The pool was nice, but those hot tubs up on the roof were what did it for us. Who can beat that view of Toronto??
