Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 10Great hotel, Not so friendly Front office and F&B staff
The hotel rooms exceeded my expecatation and the concierge and bartender were super friendly. However, the initial welcome from Front Office was dismissive and a little rude. The breakfast staff seemed better suited to a uppity nightclub. Rooms are not cleaned thoroughly every day. For the money we paid, it was definitely worth it.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 10Best Value in Toronto
I had a business trip in Toronto and hooked up with this hotel through your web site. I was very pleased with the location (short walk to Yonge St.) the room was very spacious with a great king size bed and nice sleeper sofa for the children. It cam with a large ref/freezer that kept our ice cream cold and they also had an electric stove top and microwave. Although non of that is needed due to the excellent buffet breakfast they had everyday. I estimated we saved at least $70/day having breakfast at the hotel include in the price. The front desk also had fresh fruit every day, and the help was outstanding. The ONLY issue I had was the hotel was over sold and it was hard to get extra pillows for my boys to sleep on the pull out sofa, and it took over 45 minutes to get housekeeping up to our room with a plunger to unclog the toilet. One other negative was the limited if any service at breakfast. IF they can get better servers to take away your dirty plates and provide fresh water this would be a 5 star hotel The veiw of the islands and the city was fantastic, and the rooftop hot tubs at night was a memory my family will remember forever (We saw the Persiod meteor showers from the hot tub). Being a slightly older hotel I did not expect the A/C to be that good but even on the hottest weekends of the year our room was a cool 68F. Check in and Check out was effortless, and covered parking was very reasonable with in out privledges all day. I look forward to additional business trips into Toronto just so I can stay at this outstanding hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 10Outstanding Hotel
Exceptional value for the money. Beautiful lobby and rooms. The best part is NO CARPET in the rooms - much cleaner look with the hardwood floors. The rooftop hottubs and the view at night is great. Full buffet hot breakfast in the morning is excellent quality. This hotel is my choice in Toronto!

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 10Better than I anticipated
I booked The Grand with "reservations" - no pun intended - because of a couple of reviews on this website. It must have been a while back because as a "road warrior" I was extremely pleased with what I found. Beautiful hotel with excellent service! For the money, this is a great hotel. The pool, exercise room and the rooftop jacuzzi was among the cleanest I've seen. The staff was wonderful. I am returning quite a few times to Toronto in 09 and The Grand is now my first choice of hotels!! Enjoy!!

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 10Boogers on the sheets
There were dried up boogers on the sheets, which were also torn. The drapes had some sort of dark stains on them. There were small curled dries dark things on the mattress pad. Pressing the housekeeping button on the phone got an error on the phone. Pressing the front desk got an endless ring. The surrounding neighborhood is frequented by panhandlers and worse. The rooms were probably nice some time ago, but have not been well maintained.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 10Great place to stay
The Grand was indeed grand, and also every thing I appreciate in a a stay. The staff very approachable and friendly. Parking was good, but the underground garage was very tight, (seems typical in Toronto).. so if you have a very large vehicle, I would ask about alternate parking. The roof top terrace was a great place to relax, and it has two very large whirlpools. The view of the city was great. The pool looked awesome, but we didnt use it due to time. If we would of stayed longer, we would have for sure. Finally, we had a late night snack in the bar, which was great too.. Get the Dean Martin Appitizer.. It was wonderful.
