Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 44Had so much fun!
Location of the hotel was perfect! Took us a few minutes to find it, but we did. The valet took about 15 minutes, which was very annoying. We ate at a restaurant right next door I think called, Oceana. I can't really remember the name but it was very good. When we returned to the room after dinner, noticed the ac was not working, turned it on and off and smoke came out of the vent which smelt horrible.Tried to call down to the front desk, and the phone did not work. So we walked down and told the staff, and was moved to another room within 5 minutes. Checkout was very easy, although the valet did take a very long time again, and the valet cost more than half of the room.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 44Met Our Expectations
The hotel met our expectations, especially after reading past guest reviews. The hotel is definitely located 1/2 a block from Bourbon Street(which was the best). The staff was friendly, especially the bartender who took the time to suggest a couple of jazz clubs. The complimentary breakfast consisted of muffins and coffee, which was a decent start to the day. All in all it was a good experience and we will have no problems staying there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 44Needs improvement
It was a case of bad turn to worse. When we arrived, I realized I had booked the wrong Hotel. I meant to book the St. Marie, where we had stayed previously. There is no comparison between the two. There is no where to park to load or unload bags. The vallet is four blocks away. If it is raining.....Oh well! The pool was nasty, so swimming was out. I needed an iron before we could go to breakfast. It took 3 phone calls and 45 min to get one. When we got downstairs to the breakfast room, we were told it was too late, and they were picking it all up. This was my worst hotel stay ever. The ladies at the front desk acted very put out by their jobs!!I can only say the bartender made our drinks good and she sported the only friendly attitude at the place.Never again!!

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 44Southern Hospitality
Working in the hospitality industry in NYC the past 6 years, upon my arrival I was immediately fond of how friendly and warm the people of New Orleans are. It's not cheesy at all, and comes across as completely earnest . . . As soon as I arrived at the hotel, however, I was brought back to reality. The clerk was on the cold side, even with myself making an effort to be polite. I wouldn't expect that sort of treatment at any hotel, anywhere. I've worked the front desk a few years myself, and I know we all have bad days in which it's harder to put on a smile, but the treatment continued throughout my stay. Overall, this hotel provides a great value for the location. It's nothing fancy and the property is a bit run down. My last morning the gentleman working the desk was cordial and helpful, which was funny because that sort of treatment is something I'd have preferred throughout my stay but only received upon my departure.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 44Great Hotel
We read many bad reviews about this hotel and we were worried about the quality of the hotel, but upon arrival realized that it was a very nice hotel. The service was great the bartender Lisa was excellent and we were extremely satisfied and the only problem I had was that I needed to change the key to the room a couple of times. Other than that we were extremely satisfied. On a different note a great place to eat is Ali Baba on St. Peter Mohammed serves great gyros and if you are looking for a fine dining restaurant go to Maximos on Decataur it is excellent.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 44Good Hotel!
The stay was enjoyable and pleasant. The rates were great! We found a mouse in our room, which was surprising. We notified the front desk and they offered to move us to another room. It didn't bother me, but I was surprised to see a little mouse in our room being that the hotel appeared to look nice and clean.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 44great bang for the buck
it was the best location and the room is nice. great air, view and easy to get to but not too close to bourbon that you can't sleep at night. would want the housekeeping staff to be a bit more mindful of the privacy signs and not attempt to enter so early in the morning, but overall great!

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 44Great location
Very good location right next to Bourbon St. I was able to walk to all the places I wanted to go, which was very nice. You have to pay an additional charge to have your car parked in a garage depending on how long you are staying. Once your car is in the garage you can not get to it. They only offer muffins and coffee for breakfast, which is an additional fee that you are charged, no choice, once you check in. They do offer a discount for breakfast at their sister location across the street.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 44It's definetely not the close, but gross
The staff were excellent, very friendly nad helpful. The room was in great shape for an older hotel. The TV left a little to be desired , but hey, your less than a block from Bourbon Street. You won't be spending that much time in the room anyway. Parking is a little difficult but the parking garage staff were friendly and the garage was secure. Overall I would definetely stay there again.
