Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 75Would Work Well As A Fraternity House
When you review the ratings on this hotel, you will notice a wide range, both very bad and good, and the reason is that most of the rooms are very badly maintained while a VERY few are decent and actually a great deal for the price only because of the location. I know this because I overheard the desk mgr checking in one of their frequent guests, saying they were getting one of the "good" rooms. Beware if you get a "bad" room like mine, you will have to deal with a nasty bathroom (the toilet leaked water all over the floor constantly, a shower that hardly worked), and an ac system that when on freezes you because it is either on or off (and off is not an option with the humidity there). While I was there the internet NEVER worked and they tell you it is being worked on (wink) and the elevator was out one day which was very pleasant (not) if you are on the 5th floor. If this is not enough, when you check out, you get the biggest surprise on your bill which will contain extra fees totaling approximately $15-20 per night on top of what you paid to hotels.com which I think should be against their rules. Bottom line: great location, you probably have to tip the desk mgr to get one of the "good" rooms, expect no internet availability, and the published rate you pay on hotel.com excludes $15-$20 a night hotel surcharge.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 75Better than others for the price
The hotel is within 1 block of boubon. My room was quiet, spacious and clean. The elevator was noisey (typical of older hotels in New Orleans), but my room wasn't near it. The bed was comfortable. Front Desk was helpful and the courtyard was very nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 5 of 75Hotel in Major Disrepair
I turned on my room lights and a bulb immediately burned out. I was there 5 nights and it was not replaced. The bathroom walls had holes from old mirrors and the paint was cracking. The ceiling was warped from water damaged. To make the situation worse once I checked out they charged almost $100 extra for breakfast, the newspaper and internet - none of which I used or realized I would be paying for!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 75Right where the action is ...
The St Anne Marie is moderately priced and is located between Bourbon St and Royal St right in the heart of the upper Quarter at the Canal St end. The hotel has a cute brick courtyard with a tiny pool and fountain and lots of tropical plants. That is about the extent of the amenities. The bar is OK. They only offer coffee and a breakfast bun in the mornings. There is no lobby to speak of, just a foyer with a check-in counter. Service was polite but I was not demanding, either. Furnishings have been well used and show it. The room and bath will be typical Quarter - just a little on the seedy side :-) Expect minor inconveniences. You will pay a service fee in addition to your hotels.com rate. I forked over an additional $45 but that included parking in the Iberville St Central Parking garage (400 block) for one night. Even including the service fee the rate is low for a hotel located so well. This might just be the best value on the strip. Bourbon St is noisy all night so bring earplugs if you need your rest. If you are a demanding traveler looking for creature comforts and a quiet rest look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you're on a budget but you want to be where the action is this is the perfect romantic hotel for a young couple or a pair of college students. Have fun!

The Hotel is old; but in good shape for it's age. The staff were easy to deal with. The location was my main reason for this Hotel. My door key was a pain; but I'm not a complainer. The Courtyard was nice and enjoyable.

This hotel is about the lowest priced in the French Quarter. I did not have great expectations so I was not disappointed. I did spend little time in the room so no big deal. My biggest complaint is the room was near the elevator and the closing doors were very loud through the night. Luckily I travel with ear plugs.

Required to pay a 12.83 service fee. It was only useful if you used the hotel bar or restaurant. Elevator was noisy and irratic. Furniture in room was chipped and marred. Little to no hot water.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 12 of 75Great location with bathrooms in great need of improvements
Great location- and despite being only 1/2 block from Bourbon Street it's very quiet! Rooms are fine, AC excellent, almost too cold, but the bathrooms needs be fixed. Turning on/off the shower faucet made handles come off! The tile floor needs a real cleaning, not just a quick whip. There are better and cheaper hotels by Canal Street but for this location this is a great value. A little dirt one can live with!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 75Rude staff, needs major improvement
Upon arriving to the hotel the receptionist was rude and short with me, she demanded my debit card, and then acted as if I were stupid for not assuming that she also needed my ID. She was not friendly or welcoming at all and offered no additional information. When I called earlier in the to inquire about check in times and valet parking I was told that self parking was $15 and valet was $30, I arrived Saturday morning, running late for a bridal shower and was then told that self parking was $25 on weekends, so had to accept. There were huge cracks in the walls, all of the lamp shades were broken, the shower barely worked. The next morning I woke up to someone beating on my door, it was housekeeping asking me if I was going to check out soon... This was at 9 am, checkout was not until 12 pm. I took a shower and then realized that the hair dryer was broken. I called the front desk and asked for a new one and was told that housekeeping would bring one to me shortly. While waiting I realized that the toilet also was not working. Around 10:30 am I heard beating on my door again, before I could get there, the housekeeping lady let herself into my room and asked me again if I would be checking out soon!!! I finally gave up on my hair dryer, gathered my things and headed out the door. About halfway down the hall I ran into the housekeeping lady again, sitting on a bed in an empty room watching tv, she then yelled to me one more time "are you checking out now?" i didn't answer. Instead of bringing me a hair dryer, this is what she was doing. I intended on complaining to the front staff, but when I realized that it was the same rude woman from the day before I did not. She told me my remaining balance and asked for my debit card. I was a little confused about the additional fees, and when I asked she rudely told me that I had booked through a 3rd party and that was all the information she could give. I am a local, I will never suggest this hotel to any visitors. If you're loo

The hotel could have used some general maintenance especially in the courtyard. Pool had not been in use for sometime. Got a great room for the money. Asked for a queen bed and got a king instead.
