Exceptionally Nice Hotel

The room was great, the view was great, the hotel was great!

we had a room on the riverview side, it was a great view! Lobby, pool area, tiki bar very nice, staff very nice and polite. our stay was only 3 nights wish it could have been longer. they allow pets and that was another great perk. would definitely stay there again.

Oustanding Resort!

This is a top notch hotel and the only one in Daytona Beach that is 4 stars. I normally don't pay that much but upon doing a search @ hotels.com, the Shores came up just a tad above the Hilton up the road. I've stayed at the Hilton before but for a little more I thought I try out the Shores. It's much nicer and better than the Hilton and the staff were extremely friendly. It seems like staff were everywhere. I upgraded to the oceanfront room with balcony and it is so worth it. I was told the outdoor swimming pool is heated but I can't confirm since I never went in. There's also a kiddie pool and a jacuzzi as well and the jacuzzi was extremely relaxing. This is definitely a place where you want to spend a lot of time at the resort as you never want to leave.

Romantic or Not

This was an absolutely fantastic deal! The hotel room was discounted due to end of the season time frame, but since I am from Florida and live in Florida, everyday is season for me. I had a visiting friend from overseas and wanted to show her a nice relaxing weekend from her long journey here. Turns out the room was fabulous. Great view, comfortable bed, beautiful view overlooking the ocean. Definitely go for the ocean view, otherwise you are looking over the neighborhood across the street as you look westward towards the Intracoastal. All service staff was polite and gracious. Even the Valet guys were friendly and that was after I decided to self park the car! At regular rates, the hotel would have definitely been a stretch for me to obtain (for 3 nights), but at a discounted rate, it was simply delightful. It is a great property, great location to relax (not in the middle of all the touristy Daytona venues) and super staff. Highly recommended.

Perfect for a romantic getaway

I was very impressed with the hotel, and especially the room. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway. I received my final bill and was charged a long distance call that wasn't mine (hadn't even made it up to the room yet). I still have yet to hear back re: resolution. The bar staff had limited knowledge of making drinks. Overall, the hotel was beautiful and everyone was very nice and helpful.

Overpaid!!!

First of all we did not get a balcony, like we had reserved!! The A/c was not working the first night (maintanance was sent to our rm at 1am) to fix it. The second night we went out came back & there was a pool in the bathroom!!! The water was coming from the roof!! They sent maintenance again to fix that issue. They were very apologetic, but kept saying there isn't another room we can change you to. The hotels itself is beautiful, just because we had a bad experience doesn't mean everyone else will. The valet service is great look out for (Dylan) he gave us great service..
