Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 16Needs Vast Improvements
Great location to get to and from airport. Shuttle service a big factor when choosing this hotel. Disappointed with the condition of the hotel, very dated and in bad need of updates. Room was clearly 1950's style. Bedding horrible, and blanket felt like cardboard. Would not recommend this hotel.

Love the hotel. The people who work there are nice. Everything about the hotel is nice. The only thing I dont like is that when you go out Friday or Saturday night and come back late you will not find parking because the people who go to the club parked everywere. and they say there is nothing they can do.

In this day most hotels have upgraded their beddings for comfort and relaxation and most have put in flat screen tvs, these were some of the things that i had expected, and the breakfast did not meet my expectation

We do apologize for the unsatisfactory stay. Our hotel, however, was recently renovated which included new Serta beds to the rooms and new carpets as well. All rooms include the full hot breakfast buffet which includes eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, grits, danishes, fruits and yogurts - all which comes from our fresh daily deliveries to Bistro 84. We do apologize again for your stay. Guest satisfaction is a top priority for us and we value all comments - thank you.

room had many musquitos and really small comared to same price paid at quality inn when i stayed last time.. i would not go back to this hotel again.

We do apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay. Due to the rooms being exterior entrances, if you leave the doors open for longer periods then mosquitoes may get into the rooms. Unfortunately, mosquitoes are very common during the rainy season in the South Florida area. We do apologize again for the unsatisfactory stay.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 16Needs Improvement
The people that worked at the front desk were very rude and no customer service skills at all. When I called the front desk to ask for towels I was told to come and get them myself. The Tiki Bar was never open and I spent a whole week in the hotel. The A/C didnt work after I called and told them that it wasnt blowing cold air I was never offered a different room nor did they send someone out to fix it. I was very un happy with the stay at this hotel.

We do apologize for your unsatisfactory stay at the hotel. In the event that a Housekeeper may not be able to deliver the towels immediately the Front Desk may offer towels that we have at the Front Desk rather than the short wait. Also, the Tiki Bar is open, weather permitting, and if not, they are open inside at the Lobby Lounge during lunch hours. Unfortunately, this past week’s forecast has been rainy every day. We checked with our Maintenance staff and all records show the A/C’s were fully functioning and blowing cool air. In addition, for multi-night stays, the housekeepers monitor these items during their stayover cleaning process. If the doors are left open for multiple periods of time it will take longer to cool the room but the A/C’s are checked weekly by the maintenance staff for our guest satisfaction. We truly do apologize for the inconveniences you experienced but we make guest satisfaction our number one priority and thank you for your comments.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 16Not what I expected for the price
I chose to stay at the Ramada recently so friends could pick me up as they arrived to Fort Lauderdale from the airport. For the price I paid, I expected a room that was a bit more up to date. For example, the room was fitted with a rather old television set and an old air conditioner unit that was loud. I suffer from allergies, and woke up a couple of times sneezing and coughing because the air conditioning vents had not been cleaned out in a while. While the breakfast was good, the furniture and decor in the restaurant were straight from the eighties. Not that I'm an interior design expert, but I had anticipated something a bit nicer. On the up side, there is a rather nice free shuttle to and from the airport. The free breakfast was filling and exceeded my expectations. I decided to eat lunch at the hotel restaurant. There was only one waitress and she was helpful, kind, and rather upbeat considering she was working by herself while waiting on ten or more customers. I gave her a nice tip. . .she deserved it.

We do apologize for your unsatisfactory stay at the hotel. The hotel overall was renovated in 2004 (including all new furnishings to the room and lobby area) and most recently new beds were renovated in all the rooms on property as we are continually making renovations. Our air conditioning units are cleaned regularly and it appears the cover was not tightened enough during one of our recent cleanings which led to the noise. Please inform the front desk immediately next time because we have maintenance staff that can attend to these matters for your convenience. The Tiki Bar, which is open for lunch, is ran by the bartender during the afternoons and the restaurant is open in the evenings where more staff is present for the larger dining accommodation. Thank you for your comments as we make guest satisfaction our number one priority.

Decent hotel with nice surroundings around the pool. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit lame, but overall worth the stay especially if you need to be near the airport.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 16Great if airport convenience is a necessity
Close to the airport and clean. They offer free shuttle service to the airport and also have a free breakfast buffet (although it starts at 6am and we had to take the shuttle that left right before it opened so we never actually saw it)They really did a lot to the center courtyard to try and make you feel like you weren't shoved right in the middle of a heavy traffic area and it actually worked. Our room was on the interior and we forgot were we were, in a good way.

We added a pick up from the ship to the airport after the cruise which we were not at all happy with. We had to waitfor over an hour for the pick up out in the parking lot although we called 4 x for the pick up

Unfortunately since these are separate transfers apart from the hotel courtesy transfers we will relay to the company to resolve these matters on their side. (The courtesy hotel shuttle only runs between the hotel and port or the hotel and airport – not from the port to the airport.) The place was a complete suprise from the courteous staff down to the overall maintence of the hotel. For the money it was well worth it. The hotel is in the middle of everything you can imagine beach, downtown ft. lauderdale -- las olas -- a quick drive to sawgrass mill mall.. Very very worht it.

Pros-I really liked the fact that the hotel offered a free hot breakfast buffet! That was the highlight of my stay. The pool was right outside my room door! Cons- I called for housekeeping to bring more towels, etc twice and no one ever showed up. They dont put enough towels in the room only 2 at a time. The pool should be cleaned at least twice a day because its small and alot of people swim in it. Front desk staff could be a little nicer. Overall I had a good stay, it was relaxing.

I took a cruise last week and the hotel seemed like a gift sent from heaven with free service to and from the airport and cruiseport, however, the experience was very different than I expected. Three couples including myself and husband (we were all meeting there for the cruise) had a terrible experience with the customer service and the long waits. When I called them from the airport to pick us up they said they would be there in 45 min (Also the woman on the phone with me was rude and short with me)! I called my sister who had already arrived to find that they told her 30 min and she waited almost an hour, the other couple waited almost an hour before they gave up and took a taxi. We took a taxi as well and when we got there the place was overrun, I think they take on a little too much in order to deliever good service. The dining room staff was amazing both during dinner and in the morning for breakfast. But the bartender was terribly rude and mean with customers, he about had a little old woman in tears because she asked him for change. The morning of our departure was a little more orderly than the night before, but all in all, I want to warn you that the convenience they offer you may not be worth the stress, irratation and bad customer service you may encounter.
