Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 20Absolutely wonderful!
My husband and I came into NYC for our first real visit, incredibly exhausted from a long year of graduate school, a week of family visits and graduation, and packing up our things to move across the country. We arrived in town fairly far away from the hotel and lugged 3 bags each across the city, using the subway and getting a little lost. When we walked up to the hotel, it was such that you would almost miss the entrance amongst the shops and people. Needless to say, we were not prepared to love this hotel. From the moment we saw the doorman, however, we were treated so well and felt so lucky that we would use this hotel over any others in NYC for our next visit. The staff was wonderful and allowed us to check in early so we could get cleaned up. We went up to our very nice room and found that we had a terrific view of the Empire State Building! We got great nearby restaurant recommendations from the staff, had a subway stop right near the hotel, and were right in the heart of the city. We had an EXCELLENT stay and highly recommend this hotel.

I was surposed to have a view of the city a balcony as they stated, but instead I had a view of the backyard ,garbadge can and the back of other buildings. soundproof what a joke, all we heard was noice, note sure if it was the elevator or the garbadge disposal.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 20A bit shabby
Have stayed at several Kimptons in other cities and surprised to find this one did not live up to the Kimpton reputation. Clogged toilet, loose faucet handles, noise from elevators were unpleasant. Staff quick to help but the problems detracted from the stay. Would not recommend.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 20Excellent Hotel
This hotel is great. Very helpful staff and great rooms. You even get complimentary wine and champagne in the afternoon and Oreo and milk in the night. I loved every night.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 20Big rooms in great location
Definitely bigger than your standard hotel room, so very comfortable. Loved the attention to everything "green" (free parking for hybrids, the "Green Book" in the nightstand drawer). Location is nice - we walked to Georgetown and the Mall. Would definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 20Great place to stay in downtown DC
The hotel is a short walk to Dupont Circle and the Metro Rail system. The room was very well appointed. The bathroom was a bit small - but who lives in there? Overall, it was a great value for the money.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 20Good, with a few caveats
We generally enjoyed our one-night stay, except for: - The revelers who gathered around the hotel's entrance and awoke us at 3:30 AM. I don't know whether it was our call the the front desk that did the trick, but the offenders eventually dispersed. - Confusion about whether or not the $35 overnight valet parking fee is waived for hybrid vehicles (we drive a Prius). I think our parking was free, but only my credit card statment can say for sure.

Hotel Madera is worth the stay. It's location is extremely convenient, allowing guests to take a quick taxi downtown or even walk out of the door for more fun!

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 20A Nice Place near Dupont Circle
My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel and we had a very enjoyable visit. About the only concern that I would voice is that parking was $35 per night and there didn't appear to be any other legal parking options.
