Great Rooms

First of all, these rooms are awesome! The beds are very comfortable and the room size is great! Can't say enough about how nice it is to have a separate living room and two TV's. The lobby is also beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. Couple complaints. Everytime we left the hotel and came back that evening, our keys didn't work. Given that we were on the 8th floor and the elevators are very slow, that got very annoying by the third night. Also, the self parking NEVER worked with our room key. We ended up parking on the street (while still getting charged for the lot) just to avoid the inconvenience of calling security to let us in. The pool attendant and some of the "rules" are a bit silly for the price of the hotel stay. It is not a huge or extravagent pool, so making us walk down to front desk to get bracelets and prove we are guests is a bit extreme. Especially when we were the only ones using the facility. Also, not letting our child in the hot tub with us, when again we were the only ones in there was annoying. Other little inconveniences were lack of inexpensive dining, especially for breakfast. We typically stay at 2-3 star hotels that are less expensive but always have free breakfasts. We knew when staying here that this was not the case, but the restaurant that did provide breakfast was very pricey! My suggestion would be to bring your own snacks and quick breakfast foods and to be sure to eat lunch/dinner out while site seeing if you don't want to spend a lot at their very nice restaurants! One other thing to mention, as others have, if you are an early to bed person, you may want to confirm with the staff that there is not a function (private party, etc.) going on in the lobby before booking your stay. It is very loud, all the way up to the 8th floor. Although, having the separate living area and door separation to the bedroom difuses a lot of that noise, but not all of it. Overall though, we really liked it here. Everyone was very frie

Good Hotel and Location

Attractive hotel near Gateway Arch and downtown St. Louis in a transitioning neighborhood. Although we had a suite reserved for 3 adults, we had to phone to request bedding for the sofa-bed and it took a long time for it to be delivered. However, all the staff at the hotel were very helpful and pleasant. The buffet in the casino was delicious.

Excellent place to stay in St. Louis

My wife and stayed for one night while attending a Cardinals baseball game. We had an option to walk to the game 3/4 mile or take the shuttle that the Lumiere link provided. The hotel is also connected to the casino and has many dining options that can all be charged to your room. We loved the view our room had of the MLK bridge over the Mississippi. Our bed was supremely comfortable. My wife and I thought the bathrooms were rather small and that the shower heads were surprisingly cheap. The bath products are excellent. We did not like the fact that wi-fi was a $5.95 charge and self parking was $10.00. The hotel staff responded to our needs when our coffee maker did not work and when we needed plastic ware for food. I loved the mini bar option they have in the fridges however it leaves very little room to store your own food or drinks. Loved having 2 flat screens with tons of viewing options. We ordered a movie that is still in theaters and were able to watch it from the comfort of our room. The decor of the rooms is modern and very stylish. My wife and I can't wait to stay here again. Next time we'll upgrade.

Great Location

We vacationed at the hotel 8/14/2009 - 8/19/2009. The location is excellent in getting to the Arch, Cardinal Stadium and the casinos. There was plenty to do in St. Louis and the activities were inexpensive. The room was spacious and gave us the privacy we needed away from the kids. The bed pillows were like laying on a big ball of cotton. I only have two complaints. Our bathroom wasn't clean and had a strong odor. Didn't seem like housekeeping cleaned the area at all. The other issues is a four person limit per room in the pool. Once I explained that I couldn't supervise three children in a pool to the hotel manager, he allowed my husband to join us. Would stay again if the kids are with us.

Outstanding hotel!!!

This is an awesome hotel! The room was clean and was perfect. As nice as this hotel is, the pool area was a little disappointing. Just a basic pool but the view is bad (rooftop). Maybe put up some curtains or something to block view. Workout room was good. Other than that, I would come back to this hotel every time I visit St. Louis. Casino was fun too! Hotel staff very friendly too. Would recommend to anyone going to St. Louis.

Great Room for the money!

The hotel staff was very helpful. The rooms were large. The bathroom was small and needs improvement. Overall our stay was good. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Hotel is within walking distance to many attractions. The hotel room was spacious and clean, (the hotel was once an Embassy suites) . Would stay again!

New Hotel that needs work!

We had some major issues with this hotel. 1st, it is right next to a train track and all night our room shook when the train went by. Also, there was an old pair of pantyhose in the bathroom and it was dirty. To make matters worse, the mini-bar is apparently set with a computer so that if you MOVE something, it will charge your room. No one told me this and since I had my 1 year old, I had to move things to make room for his milk. Needless to say my checkout was interesting. They took the charges off, but they were rude and very reluctant to do so. Last but not least, the food was extremely overpriced! I will not stay here again!

Overall, Great!

We stayed here for a family vacation. Check-in took about 20 mins, but it was very crowded as everyone was trying to check in at once. Front desk was helpfull. They did give us the wrong directions to an attraction but I blame that on Google, not the Hotel. Room was clean and spacious for the money. I saw a lot of people on here complaining about the size of the bathroom. It was small, but it was also adequate. I don't know about you, but I use the bathroom for it's intended purposes, i'm certainly not going to spend a lot of time in there on my vacation, so the bathroom was fine for me. We did walk by the casino(we have a small child so we did not go in)but it did look nice. Location was pretty good. It is close to alot of attractions and most importantly, the Metro Link.(Public Transportation) The train was reasonably priced and was fairly clean and we never felt unsafe. It's agreat way to get around the city, especially if your not familiar with it. The only problem we has was when we were checking out. I called for a bell boy to help with the luggage and after a 10 min. wait, I started to haul the luggage down myself. They did call while I was in the room getting the second load and offered their help. Overall it was a great hotel though. We would definately stay there again.

Good Room for the Money but Need Improvement

Overall, our stay wasn't bad. The newly renovated lobby is beautiful. The location was good..adjacent to Laclede's Landing and the Arch. The room had been updated, but wasn't the cleanest. There was mold on the shower curtain and the glass tables in the living area had crumbs and smudges all over them. The beds were super comfy with newer linens. My biggest complaint would have to be the customer service we received upon arriving. The girl checking us in was very cold and direct. I initially handed her our confirmation printout just to have her ignore it. She preceeded to tell us, what seemed to be an long list, everything that would be an extra charge. There were extra charges for local calls. The mini fridge had sensors so that if you removed any one thing for more than 30 seconds, your room would be charged. If you found it necessary to remove what they had in the fridge and replace it with your own, there was a very large fee. What is the point of having a suite with a fridge if you cannot use it for your personal needs without being charged. Access to the pool seemed to be another hassel as well. This was the kind of dialog we were welcomed with. Our other encounters with the staff were great. The bartender was extremely personable and customer friendly. Again, great lobby but needs work in housekeeping dept. Overall a good value especially for the size of this 2 room suite.
