Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 6Great Hotel
The moonrise hotel is certainly a very interesting place. It is in a very cool area of town with lots of bars, coffee shops, and other interesting stores. I wouldn't say its in the "counterculture" part of town, but there is some of that presence around. The hotel is fantastically maintained and the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is moon themed. They play ambient music in the lobby which is very futuristic. The rooms are very nice and there are moons everywhere. parking is easy. they have valet service but we parked in the back for free the whole time. I would recommend the hotel to anyone even though if you are older than 60, it might not be the place for you.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 6Fantastic Staff & Experience
We were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff at this hotel. Everyone from the front desk to valet to room service employees treated us like old friends. The surrounding neighborhood shopping and dining was diverse and lively. We will definitely stay there again if we travel to St. Louis!

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 6Fabulous
The Moonrise Hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of "the loop", a fun area of restaurants & funky shops in St Louis. The hotel is very convenient for Washington University visitors - just 1/2 mile away and I understand that the monorail line is located within walking distance for easy access to the riverfront attractions. The Moonrise has a cool, super swanky character and the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The hotel really enhanced our St Louis experience and we'll be returning. Not hard to find -just look for the huge full moon over the 8th floor rooftop bar.

This is an amazingly beautiful place to stay. The security of it was also amazing. It was such a convenient place to be. Awesome pizza across the street at Pi, which was recommended upon check-in at the front desk.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 6There was a lot to like
Overall it was a good stay. I thought the beds were really comfortable. They had free wireless internet which is always a big plus in my book. Another thing I liked was that the video hookups for the LCD television were embedded in the desk so it was really easy to hook my portable DVD player to the television. The bathroom was pretty and modern-looking, but there is no fan, no door lock, and no door on the shower so you don't really get any privacy if you have a toddler with you in the room. I also think it's weird that they have valet parking when the lot is right behind the hotel. It just made coming and going inconvenient and uncomfortable since I'd rather park my own car.
