Outstanding Hotel

Centrally located in the heart of downtown San Jose. We didn't need a car while we were there, everything is within walking distance. We did have a problem with the air conditioner not working. They upgraded us to a larger room.

Always a Bonus

I don't normally stay at hotels in San Jose, but when I do I'd have to say the Fairmont is easily my first choice. The room was clean (it always is) and the furniture was quite comfortable. I doubt it's new, but it always seems that way. One thing that -was- new is that they appear to have upgraded to flat screens in the rooms now, and the in-room TV experience also appears to be upgraded. Additionally, the in-hotel dining is superb and the elevators are fast. Some might wonder why I'd mention that, but anyone who has ever stayed at a hotel during a convention knows how nice fast elevators are. I could go on, but there's really no need to. Sufficed to say, it's a beautiful location, has excellent service, and seems to be constantly improving.

Great Hotel, room a little beat up

The property is exceptional! The room a good size and very clean with good views and ameneties. The furniture was kinda beat up though. Something I wouldn't expect from a hotel of this quality.

Slightly above standard.

Basic room. Nice facilities. Room was pretty much standard, clean, and roomy. Nothing out of the ordinary about the rooms. The rest of the hotel is nice. Good options for meals within walking distance. For a little more than the budget hotels in the sourrounding area, it was a nice deal!

Outstanding Hotel

Hotel was excellent for the price, great location, friendly staff, and a beautiful room. We were bumped up to a nicer room, but the hotel is great.

Great hotel, great location

The hotel is in a perfect location for access to multiple areas in downtown. The Tech Museum, MOCA, Children's Museum, HP Pavilion and SJSU are all within walking distance. The hotel itself also has multiple restaurants and there are quite a few smaller places to eat nearby as well. Room/hallway design offer privacy and quiet nights. All in all, a great place to stay and worth the money!
