This is only the second review I have ever given on a hotel, if that gives any idea of how happy I was with this reservation. It was perfect in every respect, except for the really small elevators (problem in every Paris hotel). The room was much larger than I expected and so was the bathroom. Very good night sleep on an exceptionally comfortable bed and the shower was the largest I have had in any hotel in Paris before. Only downside to this room was no air conditioning, but there was a nice, cool breeze from the window, so it wasn't a problem Bonus: The desk staff spoke better English than some of my friends here in the states. The bald guy...must be the day manager, was very helpful with train service, directions to sites, theatre tics for Moulin Rouge and places to eat. Oh..and there is also free Internet in the lobby and umbrellas to borrow when it rained. The breakfast was very nice and the dining area was nice and roomy. Only down side is the slight hill you have to walk up to get there, but it's only about 100 feet. At the bottom of the hill, there are about 10 different cafe's and eateries to choose from, but make sure you are there before 7:00, as that is when most of the walk-up cafe's close. Moulin Rouge is about 2 blocks away, Sacra Coeur is within walking distance...and so is a Starbuck's if you really need a fix. All in all...this place was great and I would have stayed another night, but I tried to book late and it was full. My bad.

This hotel is in a wonderful location in a friendly, artsy, historic area of Paris. Sure, the room is "cozy" and the 1 elevator is quaint, but seeing the Eiffel Tower out of our bedroom window was also part of their fantastic location. The metro is a couple of short blocks away. Just walking the neighborhood is a treat. Bistros full of locals tells you what you need to know about meals. We did most of the major Paris "icons" from this base camp and loved coming back every evening. Very convenient connection to Charles de Gaulle airport(17 euros each) direct from hotel arranged by the hotel with simple phone call. You do want to avoid lugging your luggage on the Metro no matter where you stay. Lots of steps.
