Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 99Wow what an experience!
This hotel is so elegant and pleasant. Had a wondeful stay. Comfortable beds, nice size room. Bathroom was nice but water pressure in shower could be better. Service was great. Would stay again. Only other con is it is at the end of the atlantic city strip.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 3 of 99great weekend spent at the Chelsea
We spent my husband's 50th birthday weekend at the Chelsea. We were had a partial ocean view room in the tower (save the extra $50.00 for an ocean full front room....this was just fine). The bed was extremly comfortable and we loved the European-style shower. We like to walk so we found the location perfect. there is plenty to eat, drink and shop within walking distance (our favorites were the Tropicana, outlets and Dock's oyster house). We never needed to use our car the entire three days there and always enjoyed a late night walk on the boardwalk. We enjoyed massages at the spa and the whirpool and sauna that came with it. The spa staff were terrific. We were met at the beach with lounge chairs and towels when we requested them even though we were out of season. The bartender at the pool bar made great after-beach drinks and we loved the attatched diner for breakfast(great menu...lots of healthy choices if you prefer). We were there the weekend of September 18th to the 20th. The hotel seemed full with a very diverse population(young to our age and older)...we fit right in. We checked out the night club on the fifth floor and found it a very young crowd(not for us....but looked like people were having a great time). The staff did a great job with customer service.....from the front desk to the spa and everything in between. we will be back to stay at The Chelsea Hotel and tell our friends about it. Job well done to the employees of the Hotel!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 99Maybe bad timing?!?
Second stay at this hotel. My 7:00 pm Sunday arrival coincided with a large concert crowd that were largely unhappy since they were told that they could not check-in between 4-7 pm because of a delay in housekeeping turn-around of available rooms. A 45 minute wait at the front desk, with the clerk leaving the desk to check and see if my room was clean. Ended up with 2 double beds (for 1 person), instead of king that I reserved. Only 1 beach attendant-asked us to drag our own chairs, no towels available til later. Understaffing makes for grumpy workers, thru no fault of theirs! If this was the extent of my experience at The Chelsea, I would not recommend staying here. Summer 2008 was much, much better. I may give them 1 more chance, but for the $$ I would expect better from them! A shame...

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 99Decline in quality since last year
We stayed at The Chelsea last year when they first opened. The staff were many and very accomodating. This year, things seemed to have slipped. The valet staff were overwhelmed. The front desk staff were not as knowledgeable. The beach staff did not show up one day: 2 dozen people were told to be out at 7am and the manager finally showed up at 8am. We had to drag our own chairs out and put up our own umbrellas. Housekeeping ran our of blankets. All in all, service has definetely slipped. And the Annex part of the hotel? A glorified dump. I was a motel room at best, nothing like the swanky "boutique" the hotel advertises itself.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 99I don't get what all the fuss is about...
My boyfriend and I chose to stay at the Chelsea for our AC trip after hearing that it was the newest and nicest one around. It's located right next to the Tropicana casino on the boardwalk which was great since we didn't have to do much traveling to get out gambling fix or to enjoy a nice stroll. The staff was very friendly and helpful in giving us advice about where to go to enjoy the nightlife. The hotel DID have a very lovely pool/lounge area on the 5th floor, but the room and our overall stay was very average. We found out that guests at the Chelsea Annex could access the same amenities (spa, lounge, valet, etc.)as we could for about 60% of the price, wish we would've known that sooner! And we even had to park our own car in the garage one night. It's a nice hotel, but for the price I did expect a little bit more. Next time we'll just stay in a hotel/casino.

Overall the best features of this hotel were the pools, the hospitality of the staff. We stayed in the Annex. The rooms, while clean are very small and outdated. The bathroom barely fits one adult comfortably and though clean and supposedly "retro" style, has absolutely no storage or shelf space. The room had 2 queen beds but only 3 drawers for clothes and definitely not enough places to put suitcases. In general, we payed way too much for this room and I don't feel that the condition of the Annex is well represented on the Hotel's website. I would recommend looking at other hotels.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 99Nice room but be warned!
I spent a night at the Chelsea after reading all of the reviews about how nice and newly renovated the hotel was. I booked through hotels.com since it had the best deal. When we got to our room I expected a new modern only to find a refurbished old motel style room on the first floor with noise from the bar and the street. I called and complained and was upgraded to the tower. The rooms in the tower were very nice, clean and modern. Soft bed, flat panel TV, spacious bathroom, modern decor. It was what I had expected. However when we returned from dinner late in the evening to sleep we learned about the negative. There seems to be a full blown night club party on the 5th floor that is at full blast until 4:00 am in the morning. You can almost feel the room vibrating with each beat. The front desk was not conducive to doing anything other than to say that all of the rooms are like this. Needless to say.. I was not able to sleep well with the pulsating music going on until 4:00 am in the morning. If you are looking for a quiet restful night sleep especially on weekends and holidays when the party is going full tilt.. please look elsewhere.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 15 of 99Ok Hotel
I stayed in the annex, which is not as nice as the other part of the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was nice. However, the shower was horrible. There was no water pressure at all and you had to turn the hot water all the way up and couldn't turn on the cold or else you would freeze. The other issue would be the balcony. It had a large pool of water on it and algae growing in it. The elevators are also dated and a bit scary.
