Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 30Trick or Treat
I thought I would be tricked by the nice photos of this hotel, but everything was just as photographed. With the price I paid, I wasn't expecting to be dazzled, but overall, it was a pretty good treat.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 30Outstanding Hotel
Hotel Serivce was extremely good. Room condition was very nice and the comforter and pillows were the best. Location for me was great because my business was right next door. Food was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that goes to Atlantic City. Great room for the money.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 30Key didn't work
Two nights in a row the key to my room didn't work when trying to enter my room. The key was never near a cell phone or anything that would have deactivated the mag stripe.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 30small things
This hotel was beautiful inside and out - and I had a great room for the money. The only issues that I found were the small things that can make a huge improvement during the stay. They need an information booklet in the rooms on the times that roomservice and the restaurants are open. I had to ask the front desk and got the wrong information. Also the ice machines are not listed- I spent about 20 minutes wandering around trying to find ice. The only other thing- is the water pressure in the bathrooms is fine- but the showerhead choice was too soft because they were using it as a rainhead. As simple as that sounds- it makes it hard to get shampoo out of your hair- without a handshower. All in all I would definately stay there again. The beds were very comfortable and amazing- the food was fantastic- definately an up and coming hotel!!!

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 30Not what I expected
The room was clean and the bed was very comfotable and clean as well. There was no handsoap in the bathroom. Also, the location of the nearest ice machine was quite a walk away from the room. There were no dining facilities available at the hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 30The Chelsea Has Potential
Overall, I was happy with The Chelsea but am glad I was able to stay at a discounted rate. I stayed in the Luxe Tower, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was decent - although the shower's water pressure was remarkably lousy, and there was no soap holder in the shower, so the only place to put toiletries was on the floor. Another negative was the heating/cooling system, which was pretty loud. On the plus side, I was able to access the hotel's free WiFi easily, which was a nice amenity. The Chelsea has been open for several months, but the gym was not open yet, and the restaurants and spa are not open everyday. (This bit of information is not on the hotel's website either.) I stayed during the week, and the hotel seemed under-staffed. Most of the time, there was only one person at the front desk, and when I checked out on a Friday morning, there seemed to be only one bellman for the entire hotel. The staff that were working were friendly and efficient. Another piece of info that I didn't see on their website before checking in is that the hotel charges a substantial fee per night for incidentals. It is refunded if unused, but I think the hotel should be more upfront about this policy, as it may have consequences to one's budget. Finally, when I checked out, the receptionist asked if I had parked a vehicle at the hotel, and I told her that I did not. Despite our conversation, I was still charged for parking. I called the hotel to ask for a refund, which was granted immediately. It wasn't a huge inconvenience but perhaps reflects the inexperience of the hotel staff. I am hopeful that, with time, The Chelsea will be the luxury boutique hotel it aspires to be when its amenities are all operational full-time and when the staff have a little more experience.

Every person that I came in contact with, from the front desk, to maintenance, to bellman. Everyone was very welcoming and very friendly.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 30Good Room for the Money
It was a clean and comfortable room with a great location. We lucky out with the introductory pricing. A disappointment was that the room did not include a coffee maker and room service coffee was quite expensive.
