Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 14Nice location, but that's about it
I spent two nights at the Bond Hotel for a business trip. The lobby is somewhat dark and in need of upgrade, as are the halls. The room looked like it had been upgraded with wood laminate floors and a flat screen on the tv. The biggest discomfort was the twin bed that I had to sleep on, and that rolled on the floors when I leaned against the backboard to read. The bathrom was somewhat dingy and had not been upgraded. Had to pay $9.00 for an unsecured wireless connection in order to use the internet. Location was great, next to shopping and events for the Toronto International Film Festival that was going on. Plan to spend $50-55 on a taxi from the airport.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 14nice room, not much service
The room was clean, recently updated, and reasonably well-kept. Service was a bit lacking -- I didn't have soap or a bathmat the first night and the greeting at the front was to tell me to go park my car first before checking in, or I would get ticketed. The parking was adequate, though $15/night, and when I went to retrieve my car, someone had broken a beer bottle in the elevator -- not the hotels fault, but not very pleasant either.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 14Not what Expected
When I booked this hotel it claimed to be a double standard bed meaning or bigger. However, when I got to the hotel I ended up with two twin beds and for a roll bed it was an additional 15 dollars? Ugh but the location was great very close to the subway and to entertainment.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 14Good value what you get for the money
Hotel was under renovation on some floors, and house construction close to it, so it was kind of noisy, also the noise from the streets you can easily hear. With the personnel I had sometimes communication problems because of the foreign languages spoken. But the location is greta, the personnel very nice and try to help where they can.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 14Very Convenient Location
An unpretentious older hotel under renovation. I stayed in a standard room, which would be crowded for 2 people, but was perfect for a single traveller. Very quiet, & comfortable in a simple way, though the TV was a little sluggish to navigate. The location is fantastic: A 1 to 2 minute walk to the subway, buses, Eaton(shopping)center, currency booths, movies, eateries & restaurants. There is a small restaurant in the hotel, but it was only open for breakfast & one evening during the week I was there. A business center is in the planning as well, although internet is already, accessible. Airport shuttle service is also available every half hour or so for $20 or around $34 round-trip. My only disapointment was the reception staff, in that although helpful, they never smiled! the housekeeping crew however were very friendly!

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 14Some flaws
Good value for an older downtown hotel. Needs major upgrades. Caters to young tourist travelers. Parking is accross the St and daily rate is best we have paid in Toronto. Key system to get in to parking area didn't work and had to inform desk when we were going to get the vehicle. Parking fees had to be paid in cash at the lot. Close to St. Michaels Hospital which was our reason for choosing. Restaurant was closed for season? Beds are older along with a 14"TV.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 14Decent for the price
The hotel is a decent deal, very good location. The breakfast is terrible, "restaurant" is an overstatement. But there are a fair amount of options in the neighborhood (if you want to brave the cold in the winter as I had too).

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 14Better than Expected
Using Hotels.com is very helpful if you read all of the reviews and toss out those whose expectations are exceeded only by their egos. That said, the Bond Place Hotel was exactly as described--a place to base from when exploring the Toronto scene. It's location is perfect for shopping, walking and traveling with access to the tram, bus and subway systems. The neighborhood is clean and right in the 'action'. The rooms are indeed small but clean and well maintained. Initially they seem cramped but I quickly accommodated. The beds, bathroom and ceilings are full sized even though the overall square footage reminds me of a cruise ship. This is a good place for sleeping and not much more. The staff was efficient and friendly to a fault. Overall, a fine locale at a fine price. The savings are such that I can get a second (or third room) for my family without breaking a financial sweat.
