Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 13Good room for the money
The staff at the Listel was great. they were kind and very helpful. The valet even left us some wrapped cookies in our car when we checked out! Bathrooms definitely need some updating as they were pretty worn. Would have loved a pool also but got along ok without it. Overall a good stay especially for the price.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 13Great location
The hotel was conviently located in the Robson neighborhood of downtown Vancouver, with access to plenty of restaurants, bars, and shopping. Stanley park is only a short walk away, like 5-10 minutes. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was a solid value for the price, especially given the fact that you probably won't spend very much time in the actual hotel. The art/museum theme is not as "big" as the hotel advertises either. Overall, great experience!

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 13Great hotel, but front desk service needs improvement
Everything was great aside from: Window was dirty. Check in person didn't advise me they have a contract for hotel guests with nearby gym. I also wanted to extend my stay for an extra night (sunday night), but they wouldn't give me the same rate. Clearly the room was available, as it was when I booked it on hotels.com and they wouldn't offer it with higher rate when I asked for it. It was also off season. I had to pack and move to the hotel next door. Why frustrate a customer and help out a competing hotel? They don't have guest parking like other hotels in the area, and charge $24/day, which I think is steep.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 13Nice Location
The appeal to this hotel was the location. It was an easy walk or quick drive to many of the sights/points of interest. The hotel itself was decent. It was relatively clean and updated - nothing spectacular nor repulsive. The staff was cordial and left a small gift in our car upon check out, which I felt was a unique touch. I would agree with another review regarding the elevator key. It seemed to be a bit temperamental and thus, a bit of a pain.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 13Outstanding staff!
The Listel Hotel is on Robson St. and a very good location in a very big city! It is a short distance to all the major attractions either by taxi or walking. It is safe to walk about the area at night with many choices for dining. The staff is very pleasent and helpful with directions, reservations to the theater, taxis etc. The front desk has a computer that guests can use to check transportation, emails and internet sites. This was very helpful as the week we were there hundreds of flights had been cancelled! The room cost was reasonable for such a "cosmo" city!

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 13Great Hotel
I took my wife up for a romantic Vancouver retreat President's day weekend. If the hotel had thrown in a free "Move Past the Border" card, the weekend would've been perfect. The Hotel Listel was an excellent place for the two of us to hole up for two days. The room, though facing the back alley, was full of windows, clean, comfortable, etc... We only had two gripes: 1) the bed was small. requested a King, got maybe a twin or full (a canadian Queen?). 2) the AC wouldn't kick in - we couldn't seem to cool the room down any more than 85 degrees, even with the window open. The Hotel location, north Robson St., was excellent. Plenty of great restaurants and coffee shops everywhere. If you can avoid the weekend, you will avoid the huge crowds. We didn't and still enjoyed walking through downtown. We will stay at the Listel again and recommend it to others.

Great location, great service, beautiful interior. Really, one of the most satisfactory hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 13Hidden Charges
The hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly. However due to the location parking is very difficult to find. The hotel did not provide any parking other than their valet service. I was told by the clerk that it would be a flat rate for our stay. However upon checkout I was charged this "flat rate" each day. It was very expensive and added over $100 to our 4 night stay. For the additional money that i had to pay to park I could have found a nicer Hotel to stay in.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 13Very Pleasant Hotel on Robson
Nice staff very helpful. I and my partner would use again without hesitation. However note that on 5th floor new bed pillows had been added and they were too stiff much like foam rubber from the 70s to be used. Bed was very comfortable. Parking was strictly Valet since diretly on Robson street. Attached resturant adequate for dinner excellent for breakfast and no worse priced than any attached food service. Lots of art scattered about and close walking distance to Vancouver Art Museum which has Monets etc on view till 10/07

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 13Nice, Quirky, Good Location
The Listel Vancouver has a great location on the main shopping strip in Downtown Vancouver. It is recently renovated and vary comfortable. Unusual extras include original art throughout the hotel, unusual Vancouver publications in the rooms (not the typical tourist guides) and a better than average in-room bar. Very nice for couples or small groups.
