Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 48A bit off the strip but a great hotel
When I say a bit off the strip I mean about 1.5 miles from the restaurants and shops downtown on Indian Canyon dr. You could walk there if you really wanted to. A cab cost about 10 bucks. The hotel has great character and was very clean. Look for Anna Nicole's hand prints in the cement squares by the pool. All in all this is where I would stay next time I go back.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 48Great Deal!
I just wanted to get away for the weekend and relax. Caliente Tropics offered just what I wanted and needed at a very reasonable price. The employees are very nice and helpful. The pool and hot tub are great. Love the open green space for my puppies. There was a problem with the first room they put us in (a/c was not cooling and ceiling fan was very wobbly). I made one phone call and they were able to immediately moved us to another room with no hassles. My puppies and I would definitely recommend the Caliente Tropics.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 48Really Nice Hotel. Could use a breakfast.
This was a hidden gem in Palm Springs. It's away from the main strip, quiet and with a really nice pool and a spa. The only thing clearly missing that one would think be standard in the hotel of that kind is any semblance breakfast.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 48Great for the money
Nothing to complain about. It is close to everything - not walking distance - but only a 5 minute drive. Staff was friendly and they cleaned the rooms every day.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 48WELL worth the money
Room was a lot better than I expected. Very clean and extremely comfy bed and pillows. All rooms surround the pool. It was well worth the money and only like 5 minutes away from the strip, where all the food and shopping is. The ONLY thing that freaks me out was that they had no latch on the door... they said it broke off and still hadnt gotten the parts in. They offered to give us a new room but we decided that we'd be fine without it.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 48FANTABOULOUS
We were blown away by the size of the room the comfort of the beds, beautiful bathroom, and sooo reasonably priced. this has been the best deal i've gotten from hotels.com so far. I highly recommend this hotel, we were going to stay one night and ended up extending our stay by 3 more nights. great pool and sun area. only down side was that housekeeping didnt replace washcloths and bar soap. other than that wonderful stay.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 48Cheaper Place to Stay
For the price, I would stay here again. I think that we are going to try somewhere else next time. If you have a small family, or just going stag; this would be a good place to stay. If you want something nice and are looking for a quality stay...you should check out some of the other places. I could not really understand what the desk clerk was saying when I called him on the phone. I had to call back twice just to really understand what he way saying. When we got there, it was ok, but we had to wait in line for a little bit. There was only one guy working the front desk and it took quite some time. We were supposed to have two queen beds, but they ran out so we got a king with a roll out bed. It was supposed to be in the room but was not. We called and no one answered. After 20 min we called again and they brought the bed up. Our bathroom flooded that night and I guess that it went down to the room below. We had not been in the bathroom since about 7pm and had no clue, but someone arrived at about 8am the next morning and said that there was a leak. He cleaned it up and left. The hotel was a little older, but pretty nice. They ran out of pool towels, so we didn't get to go. For the price, it was not that bad. We did have to walk quite a ways just to go out to dinner and get some drinks. I think that it was about a $10 cab ride (so I would suggest doing that) to the downtown area.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 48good room for the price
A nice and quiet location. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and the grounds were nice. The pool was a good size and lots of loungers however we were there on a busy week and they ran out of pool towels and could barely keep up with bath towel requests

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 48College Spring Breakers
I've stayed at the Caliente Tropics several times. I like it because the rooms are nice and always clean. They have a great pool. And I love the polynesian theme of the hotel. Plus the price is right! Very reasonable. I stayed there last week and was a bit disappointed that there was a large group of (underaged... I know this because they sang happy birthday to one of them and announced that she was 19) college students on spring break who were drinking all day starting at 9 a.m. at the pool. They were loud and obnoxious. "F" bombs flying everywhere. The funny thing is that usually my only gripe about the Caliente Tropics is that it is such a family friendly hotel that there is always a ton of little kids in the pool being loud. (Which makes this recent experience even worse.... there were kids experiencing these foul mouthed college students.) I'll stay there again, but not ever during spring break.
