Although the star rating is not that high, I still expect a place to have key cards that work right away and a clean room. The carpet had a big stain on it, and the hot breakfast items did not look "tasty" to say the least. I must say that the front desk staff was more than gracious; however.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 45UNEXPECTED
We were surprised that the hotel was not maintained at all and that their photos in the internet versus actual are totally different.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 45Hotel was 3 Stars-Hotel staff was 5 Stars
The Hotel was conveniently located just South of City core, made for a quiet space. The bed was firm and I has an outside space, 2nd floor. I spent 4 days with a lot of time working in the room, wifi was always on. I would stay again and have nothing negative to say about the Royal Garden Inn.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 45Great Location
The hotel was centrally located near all of our destinations. It was very easy to access from the interstate, and parking was not an issue. The room was not spectacular, but it was great if you are only looking for a place to sleep - which most business travlers are. I felt that my room was clean and tidy. I slept great in their beds, and enjoyed the huge window I could open in my room. The hotel is old and could use some updates, but overall it is a good place to stay for a few days.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 45Excellent breakfast
Hotel good for the money. Very good breakfast. However, don't get a room that has access to the outside (traffic noise, safety issues). Room inside with door to locked hallway better. Upstairs room away from street best to keep out sound from people talking near the bar.

Great hot breakfast. Wish it went until 10am instead of closing at 9am. Loved the free WiFi in the room. For the price of the stay it was a great hotel that provided everything I needed it to.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 45Inexpensive Alternative in Downtown SLC
The hotel is ideally located in walking distance from downtown. There are nicer hotels surrounding it, but for the lower price, this hotel is sufficient. The facility was under construction, so it was unslightly. Inside the rooms, it looked like a cheap motel (ugly wallpaper, some minor water damage). Great amenities such as a free breakfast and wireless internet. I was able to get a lot of work done in the hotel and went downtown for dinner. It seems that most people who stayed there were skiers and snowboarders in their 20s.
