Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 25Quaint as long as you don't mind noise!
The Normandy has a quaint European feel and charm which was impressive to me from the start. The rooms are small but decorated nicely and equipt with flat screens and personal coffee makers, nice touches. I loved it until I tried to go to sleep. The building next door, over which the Normandy has no control, apparently likes to party. The courtyard of the Normandy only echos this noise up to your room, making it impossible to get any sleep. So, as long as you don't mind staying up all night, this hotel is great.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 25Quiet, But Convenient
This was our second stay at The Normandy. The refurbished rooms are very nicely done with nice amenities. But the biggest selling point for The Normandy is its great staff and quiet location. It's close to everything and in a lovely neighborhood for early morning or late night walks. We loved the new flat panel TV's and the Nespresso machines. The bathrooms are great and we appreciated the wine cooler for our soft drinks! We spent 5 nights here and loved being here again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 25Very Nice but warm
The room was very nice a bit small but the location was great. very clean and the desk clerk at check in was VERY helpful. But the AC did not work well was very warm and was in May. Would be a issue in warmer months

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 25Great Hotel with one little "Quirk"
I found the Normandy Hotel on Hotels.com. I am always a little skeptical when booking through websites but its the chance you take. What a pleasant surprise! This property is top notch. The check-in was polite and fast. The rooms are all remodeled and very clean!! The bathrooms are great! The beds are very comfy - down to the high thread count sheets. (Note - although some websites say you can only get 2 double beds - this is not true - the hotel has upgraded to all queen beds in the 2-bed rooms). Please note that the rooms are not "huge". They are somewhat small but very efficient. Free wi-fi and free espresso machines in the room as well! Nice flat-panel TV. Good Towels, etc. The location in Dupont Circle is nice, but might be a bit of a challenge if you are depending on using METRO (the subway) for most of your transportation as it is about a 10 minute walk - and up a hill on the way back. You do have another subway stop choice which is a flat walk, but about 5 minutes longer. Here is the one "quirk" that I hope they address. The rooms do not have dressers. This is normally not an issue with me when I stay for just a night or 2 but this trip I stayed 6 days and would have loved to be able to unpack my suitcase. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel to anyone

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 25Great hotel!
This is a great hotel just up from Dupont Circle. Rooms are cozy - so not the place I would stay if with my kids ... but for a few days in DC on my own I could not have asked for more!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 25Nice Remodeled Older Hotel
The hotel was very nice and had just been remodeled. I had no problems other than my first room smelled like smoke and they were more than happy to switch rooms for me. Apparently someone before me broke the rules. Tisk...Tisk. The only other issue is that it was pretty far from the metro. I was walking everywhere...which was not fun.

Quaint hotel and accommodations. Suggestion: post directions for coffee maker and tv channels. Otherwise, a great time.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 25Lovely hotel in a very nice area
The Normandy Hotel is absolutely the right choice if you like urban/hip atmosphere in D.C. It is convenient, only 10 minutes walk to reach good food around Dupont Circle, and the hotel room is very nice and comfy. They use great shower/bath set products and coffee machine. It will be perfect if the hot water could be a little bit hotter.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 25Beautiful, Elegant Hotel
We really enjoyed our stay and could not believe the hotel was so nice -especially with what we paid. The room was decorated beautifully, in a great safe, location-close enough to sights, but in a cute neighborhood. Our one complaint was that as the stay went on-we got less towels, toilet paper, and espresso capsules and we had to call down for these-which were brought up in about two minutes.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 25Check your directions!!!!
The hotel was beautiful and in a beautiful part of town. However, we got horrifying directions from both hotels.com and the people at the front desk. We got lost and spend at least an extra hour driving both into and out of the city. Once there and parked ($25) it was incredibly easy to get around the city with lots of good food nearby. The rooms were nice, comfy and well cared for. The lobby is very cute with lots of comfortable seating. Other than getting lost, we had a great time.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 25Glamour Meets Affordability
The Normandy Hotel was beautiful, pristine, comfortable, conventiently located. The photos on Hotels.com don't do this hotel justice! The room I stayed in was newly renovated and redecorated--it was just perfect! The on-street parking was a bit tricky, but I would, and will, definitely stay here the next time I travel to the DC area.
