Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 95Great "European" Hotel But Inconvenient Location
The Normandy is a throughly modern hotel with a European feel. The rooms are small, but well laid out and beautifully furnished. The staff is friendly. The only problem with the Normandy is the location. While the neighborhood in Northwest D.C.is great and completely safe, the hotel is quite a trek from the Metro - about one half mile. And half of this distance is up a steep hill.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 95Great hotel for business in DC
I have stayed at the Normandy Hotel a number of times, and plan to stay there again in a month. It's a great hotel for my business needs in DC.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 95Okay, but somewhat disappointing
The place looked lovely, and I really wanted to like it more than I found myself able to. The heat was broken the first day I arrived (unfortunate, in rainy, near freezing temperatures), and although the rooms look that isolated oases the walls certainly didn't keep out the sounds of people having apparently a normal-volume conversation down the hall, nor vigorous lovemaking somewhere in the vicinity. I was also disappointed to come back at 5:00 pm to a still unclean room. Considering I made my plans at the last minute, I can't complain too much, but even so it was not quite what I had hoped.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 95Great small hotel!
Really enjoyed my stay. Had a very nice room with a view towards CT Avenue. Bed was very comfy, nice amenities such as the hi-def flat screen TV! Loved the modern bathroom with glass shower stall. Expresso machine was very handy in the morning. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Nice lounge area. Excellent neighborhood & location, just off busy CT Avenue. Parking was no problem: unloaded my baggage & brought it to my room, then drove the car to the Marriott just over a block away to park. The price for parking was average for the area ($28), and I was able to go in & out of the parking lot with no problem. I will definitely go back to the Normandy!

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 95Just right .... but the bed ....
Nice updated room. Small - but about right for the location and building. Solid location that is very walkable to Dupont Square Metro, but if you don't want to have a morning stroll, watch for the L4's bus schedule and you'll be fine. The only thing that held back the room for me was the bed. A better mattress is needed.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 95Charming
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. The room was very small but nicely done. Though it was a hike to Dupont Circle, we loved this great neighborhood. We just parked our car because the Metro and some incredible restaurants were just a few minutes walk away. We would stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 95Be aware of parking before you book
Fantastic little hotel in great convenient location. Great pricing. Newly renovated. Rooms are very "European" - smaller but nicely furnished. Understand that there is very limited, narrow parking in the parking garage. Large SUV's just won't fit. Maybe 8 parking places for entire hotel. Available street parking is nonexistent. A great hotel very, very reasonably priced.

This hotel is on a quiet street on Embassy Row. It was walking distance to the park and metro. I absolutely loved my stay there.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 95delightful hotel
What a cute hotel. The only problem we had was with the espresso machine in the room. We couldn't figure out how to work it and there were no instructions. The staff were helpful and always polite. The room was beautiful and very clean. We enjoyed the neighborhood and found it to be in a convenient location.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 95Great room for the money
I stayed at the Normandy to save money on a conference that was nearby at another major hotel. It was a short 15 minute walk away or less than 5 dollar cab ride. The room was state of the art: hdtv, free wi-fi ...which is great for a business traveler like me. Neat espresso coffee maker. The continental breakfast was nice and the waitstaff will even bring it to your room for you. Friendly staff, eager to assist. also, free printer available at lobby computer to print my boarding pass... no bottled water in the room or convenient store immediately near hotel... so plan ahead. overall great stay
