Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 21no frills but great view
Amazing view. Rooms were a bit dated. Revolving restaurant at top floor worth visiting. Great location. City tour bus stop is right outside. Price could have been a bit cheaper.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 21Nice location, but rooms are sub-par for the price
The Empire Landmark Hotel is in a great location along Robson Street in downtown Vancouver. It's an easy walk to downtown shopping, the waterfront, and Stanley Park. The view from the hotel rooms is exceptional. However, the condition of the rooms was disappointing. It appears that the hotel has not been modernized in over 20 years. The colors and furnishings were outdated and worn. When comparing the condition of the room to other similarly priced hotels in the Pacific NW, the Empire Landmark falls very short of memorable.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 21Basic accomadations with GREAT BALCONY VIEWS and GREAT LOCATION. (room too smelly with room deodorizeer)
I would definitely stay there again. The ONLY complaint I have is the room was way to deodorized with some stinky, smelly chemical.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 21Great room for the money
Great location, on Robson Street, great revolving restaurant, spectacular views. It was an older Hotel, but the room was clean and comfortable.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 21Great Deal
Stayed on the 24th floor looking out over the city, Stanley Park, the mountains...quite nice. There were a million neighborhoods within walking distance, as well as a beach. We were there in mid April and lots of trees and flowers were already in bloom. Room was clean and great maid service every day (don't forget to tip!). Had to pay to park but it was cheaper than any other comparable hotel. Cloud 9 is an awesome place to get a drink too.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 21Decent room for the price
The hotel is decent for the price (compared to surrounding hotels and rates). It is in a great location, within walking distance of many stores, restaurants, and neighborhoods. The rooms were older and showed signs of age, but had a great view of the city. If you're an easy-going traveler passing through or just there for the night, this is a good hotel. It sounds like they are doing some remodeling. With a couple of room updates this hotel could be fantastic!

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 21View with a room, nice for cost
That's how they phrase it, and they're right. Pretty inexpensive room comparitively. Room amenities pretty basic, no fridge though, ice was on another floor. We were on the 27th floor (out of 43 I think), the view was awesome. Cityscape, snow caped mountains and a sea of water from our window. There's a restaurant on the top floor, supposedly revolves to catch the views as you sit. We went for breakfast buffet, decent for $14, no revolving but we walked around and took pictures.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 21Good for the money
We had a nice stay, but the room felt a little cramped and dirty. The lobby looks very nice and the front desk staffers are pleasant.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 21Affordable Hotel
The maid service was excellent! Unlike other hotels, the maids were able to clean our rooms, no matter what time we left in the late morning/early afternoon. Got a pretty good deal, especially considering how pricey hotels were, even a few blocks away. A good deal for the money if you don't mind walking the 8 blocks or so to attend the Vancouver International Film Festival. We would consider staying there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 21Disappointing!
Hotel was in great location, but that was really all it had going for it. At the price it was for a room for a night I was expecting at least some of the things in the room to be at least exceptional, but really there was nothing. Everything looked dirty, the door to the balcony didn't lock, our TV was small even though the cabinet it was in could have fit one much larger. Really they could take the extra bit of effort to make the rooms at least a little more comfortable, but it seems like they don't even try. Also, you can hear all the water running through the entire hotel, so sleeping in in the morning is NOT an option. The view you get from a room up high is wonderful, but they have a restaurant that you can experience that from also. The restaurant I only recommend going to at night, it looked beatiful then. But in the light of day it too looked dusty and neglected.

The Hotel staff was nice but the area was not what we wanted. We changed our stay from 3 nights to one.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 21Horrible Hotel!
Our stay was supposed to be a nice getaway. First off, we found out that our room was canceled. We called to see if it was possible to cancel and whoever we talked to canceled our room with the hotel. We got to the hotel and after letting us know that we were not even supposed to be there, they found us a room. We got up to our room, on the fifth floor, and we were located next to a service elevator; it was loud and really obnoxious. We went back down to see if there was anything that they could do to help us. They put us into another room on the 21st floor. We went up to our room and our keys did not work. Luckily they had sent up someone to help us out with the room before we had got there. We got into our room and started to relax finally at about 5pm. We were told that they would bring us up new keys that worked in a few minutes or we could just pick them up at the front desk if we wanted to go anywhere before they got back. We left the hotel to find some dinner. We got back around 9pm and went up to the front desk to get our keys. They handed us 2 keys and we went up to our room. The new keys did not work. We went back down to see if we could get into our room but they had to have security let us into our room again. We left our room again at about 10pm and went down to the front desk to try, yet again, to get keys. We were given another set and we went back up and tried them in our door. These ones also did not work. We went back to the front desk to turn them in and told them we would come back for our keys after we went up to the hotel bar. After the bar we went down to the front desk to get more keys to our room. (Let me also say that the elevators were not very comforting since they opened before the floor had even been reached and they were a bit nauseasting because they droppped from such heights so fast.) Again we went up to our room with security. This time the security key did not work to get us in. So we had to go back down and talk to the desk again

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 21Cool hotel
The hotel queen beds are plenty large and the balconies give a great view. Cloud 9 was stunning when we hit it for drinks at sunset. If you're going to Vancouver for fun, this is near a shopping district with great variety and lots of restaurants, all in walkable distance. If you don't mind walking about 10 blocks in cool weather, you can also reach the nightlife, dancing and bands along Granville Street.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 21Terrible Place
Location was bad. OUr room overlooked boarded up tenements. No internet access except from lobby at $40 per day. Towels were thin, dishrag type things. The beds were like sleeping on boards. For part of the time, the elevators were not working properly, and we waited 13 minutes!
