Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 27Decent but not great for the money
Hotel location is great, and staff is very frindly. However, the bed was pretty hard and uncomfortable, and the bathroom was in bad shape (not dirty!) -needed a lot of maintenance work.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 27Convenient to downtown and West End
This hotel offers a great view of the Sound, Stanley Park, and downtown Vancouver. It is also reasonably comfortable for the price.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 27Hidden Costs
The location of the hotel is excellent, however they are not up front about additional costs such as 10 dollars a day for a parking pass and 14 dollars a day for access to the wireless internet "provided" by the hotel. The building is also a little dated but the room was comfortable.

Gorgeous city views. Friendly and helpful service. Spacious rooms. 5 minute walk from downtown. The restaurant on the 9th floor is perfect for breakfast. The stay at the Empire Landmark made me wonder: why stay at expensive hotels paying three times more for the same experience? Recommended!

This hotel has a wonderful view. I found everything met or exceeded my expectations.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 27Good affordable room
Everything was pretty good. You should know that they keep prices down by charging for things that might be free at other hotels, such as wireless access in the room, and internet access in the business center. The hotel is surrounded by a lot of great restaurants.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 27Amazing view
I got a room on the 38th floor, facing north, which gave me an amazing view of West End and Stanley Park. The downside of having a room this high is that you have a long elevator ride, but it's worth it. The room was clean and serviceable. The business center in the hotel lobby provides two computers with Internet access. There is a fee to use these machines.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 27Perfect for my needs
Really liked this hotel. Very simple, attractive modern room (did I mention simple? the decor was plain and tasteful. Not fancy or opulent. Very comfortable, convenient, well set-up, nice design.) No fridge by the way. Great little balcony and fantastic view. Super nice and helpful staff. Great location.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 27Great Location
Old hotel, but clean and comfortable - I had a great view from my room. I stayed alone for business, but felt safe, and was happy that it was walking distance to a lot of great shops/restaurants. Can't beat the price!

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 27Great view and clean rooms; good value
I booked this motel with blind expectations, but I was sincerely pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of the room. I don't think there's a bad view in the entire building. The beds were very comfortable. The restaurant on the top floor isn't open all day, so we didn't get to enjoy that. Also be prepared for a noisy night if its exceptionally windy outside. We were on the 33rd floor and we got a heck of a windstorm that night. But overall, I liked the motel and staff. I would definetly stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 27Bargain price for a good place to stay - Book through Hotels.com
I had read some so-so descriptions about this hotel but I was very plesantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the rooms, the views and the overall experience, especially the rotating restauranton the 48th floor. Although this is not the Ritz for someone who wants good quality at a really good price this can not be beat. My rate through hotels.com was 1/4 the standard rate for the room and 50% better than the "conference" rate. Some people have commented on the elevators and wind noises. Come on! this building is very tall and it is vintage 1970's construction so the elevators are reliable but can be slow with lots of hotel traffic and you do hear the wind through the elevator shaft the same as any high rise. I truly loved the hotel. The maid service was prompt and effective, the area is really great cosmopolitan and in the center of the downtown close to public transport. Be sure to visit the restaurant at the top of the hotel for a sunset dinner. Average prices, good food and a view that can not be beat!

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 27Mostly great
My adult son & I came to Vancouver for a 4-day seminar & so we were in the hotel a very minimal amount of time. We could never figure out how to turn off the heat! so it was too warm, but since we got in so late & left so early, it was not a big deal. I mentioned the problem when we checked out & I'm sure they handled it. The room was spacious (with a fridge)& was adequately cleaned each day (I left tips). The ladies were kind & polite, as well as grateful for tips. One even chased me down to thank me! The view was great, even though we had little time to enjoy it, and the one time we had to eat in the revolving restaurant was very impressive. Great food AND fantastic view. The neighborhood is fun & diverse, but you do have to watch out for the beggars. I definitely would go again.
