Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 10Good location,
The Claret is located right next to the Bercy Metro station, which will take you into more central Paris. The most trouble we had with the hotel was the noise/disturbances. The housekeeping staff begin to clean and make noise fairly early in the morning (around 7:30 AM). Also, there is no air conditioning, which forces you to leave the windows open. This can cause problems because of the street noise on one side of the hotel. There are also several train tracks very near the hotel as well as a bus stop right outside of the hotel, which can sometimes get rowdy. So, light sleepers beware. Overall, the hotel provided us a place to sleep and was very good because of the Metro. The room was simple, but quaint. There was not a stand up shower in the botel, just a mobile shower head in the bathtub. And we found the restaurant attached to the hotel to be overppriced, so we frequented cafes and sandwich carts. But, again, for a clean, pleasant place to rest (excepting the noise), we would recommened.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 10Great experience
This hotel is simple and no frills but a terrific place to stay if you're in Paris to see the city and just need a clean, comfortable place to sleep. The hotel staff is pleasant and professional. The restaurant is fine for breakfast. The metro stop is literally 10 yards from the door of the hotel. Rooms are small and there is street noise on that side of the hotel, but that's to be expected in any Paris hotel at this price level. This place made our trip outstanding. Thumbs up!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 10Good for the money
After reading other reviews, I found the room to be bigger than expected. Very clean with a shower. By US standards the shower was a little small but I managed just fine. If you don't have a converter to recharge your cell phone, the built in hair dryer has a US standard outlet. It says to only use it for electric shavers but it saved me since my phone had only a drop of battery left. The metro station was about 5 paces away from the front door which made all the difference in the world. The room was cute. Definitely request a courtyard view. Be sure to push your room door closed! I fell asleep with mine open the first night since it closed automatically. The front desk staff spoke English very well which was helpful. They also had stacks of maps which they used to guide me on the Metro wherever I was going. The desk staff was awesome! It is such an easy city to get around in and everything is much closer together than I thought. The cafe' downstairs was ok, I wouldn't do breakfast there. 10 euro for fruit, cheese, coffee, juice, and croissants.

The only thing that I did not like about our room is that you can only take a showers sitting down in a tub (which is typical of french showers... they say)

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 10Nice Hotel
I really liked staying there. The location was perfect with the metro station right outside the door. The restaurants near by were nice as well. Especially liked Bercy Village. The problem is that Bercy main train station is across the street and you can't sleep with your window open. I also would have preferred a room with a shower curtain. I'm not much of a bath person andno shower curtain was quite inconvienient
