Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 12Good room for the money
The staff was quite helpful. The room was small, but comfortable. A room on the front of the building is noisy (street noise). We were on that side for part of our stay. The back side of the building is very quiet. We spent the latter part of our stay on the back side. There is no air-conditioning. However that was not a problem for us in late September and early October. The temperture was just perfect.

We were told that we would have access to roll away beds. The front desk had no idea what a roll away was. A full size bed is actually a twin bed and a queen bed is two twins pushed together. Small room, great location to train station and to the subway, and convention center. extremly far to the city... cabs cost kill you.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 12Good Hotel for the Price
Yes the room was small and the bed was hard but hey that;s europe. This hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was the best during our entire trip. The Metro stop was right outside the door and that can get you anywhere you want to go. We even went to Versaille by train starting at the hotel. don't be afraid to use the Metro and stay here. My son and I really enjoyed te entire experience. We don't speak french and that posed no problem at the hotel. Great bakery just around the corner and lots of restarants too.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 12A little out of the way but a decent stay...
The hotel is not so helpful with booking tours and is a bit of a distance from the major sites but the staff will help you get to where you want to be as Paris' metro system is very efficient and easy to manage. No a/c in the rooms we booked but a very satisfying breakfast was a nice touch.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 12Good room for the money
The hotel staff was very friendly & helpful in helping find our way around. The breakfast came with the room. This is a nice feature if you're like me and don't feel like searching for a place to find breakfast first thing in the morning. The hotel is at an ideal location - right next to the Metro station which gives you access to Paris. The hotel is about a block from the Seine River and about 1.5 miles down from Notre Dame cathedral. The hotel has a nice, comfortable lobby and a small, comfortable courtyard in the back of the hotel. Please note that the rooms do not have air conditioning which can be an issue in the summer months. We were there in late-July when the temps were in the mid-80s. Also, the street traffic can get pretty noisy for those rooms facing the front of the hotel. They'll give you a room in the back, but they will charge extra for it.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 12Lovely hotel next to a train station
The hotel is really very nice, except for one major downside - it is situated next to Gare de Lyon and you cannot leave your windows open because every time a train stops it sounds like 100 decibels of nails on a chalkboard. Luckily the windows are quite soundproof - but without A/C it is too hot to sleep with the windows closed. They do provide a fan which is nice. The breakfast and the staff are very nice. The hotel is located at Bercy metro which is on convenient metro lines for a lot of tourist attractions. The hotel staff for the most part speaks english well. So: stay here if you are not staying during the summer/when it's hot.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 12Great hotel
The staff is extremely friendly. They speak English well. The room I had was small, but more than enough for 2 people. The hotel is close to Gare de Lyon, which is a major public transportation station. I will go there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 12More for your money just five minutes from Notre Dame
This hotel was a bargain when we stayed in June. Just a five minute ride to the Bercy metro stop from Notre Dame (the savings were well worth the extra five minute commute). Staff is friendly, but was not able to advise about the surrounding area. Breakfast was EXCELLENT. I recommend this hotel-just be sure to request a room on the back side of the hotel or the trains will keep you up all night. Safe travels.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 12Great Location
Although the hotel is a little shabby, it had other qualities that are positive, e.g. great location, quiet room, good breakfast, responsive staff, close metro stop, large bath tub and an elevator that accomodates two people with two large suticases. There is a great family run Italian restaurant just around the corner, that has a terrific atmosphere. The Italian place gets very crowded about 7:30-8:30PM, but clears out about 9-ish. Go early at 7, or later at 9. The metro is literally steps away from the hotel and other restaurants are along the same street. It is a great base for explorations in Paris.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 12My Paris Stay
The hotel staff was extremely helpful and nice. The location was close to the Metro, the train lines and therefore easy to get aroung Paris. Breakfast was great. I would stay again at Le Claret on my next stay in Paris. If staying there though do not pick rooms facing the front as when windows are open. it gets rather noisy.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 12Excellent hotel
We greatly enjoyed staying in the Hotel Claret. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, safe, and well located. The neighborhood was further from central Paris than we anticipated, but that was our fault. The hotel is located in a great neighborhood though, with excellent cafe's and shops right around the corner. A nice collection of shops and restaurants is a 10 minute walk away in Bercy Village that I recommend checking out. The Metro stop is literally right outside the front door of the hotel making it an ideal location for public transportation. I would gladly stay in the Hotel Claret again.
