Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 51Great Location and Superb, Helpful Employees
Clean and centrally located on Las Olas so walking was safe and easy to high end restaurants and stores . Also within walking was family owned pizza and more. Cost of Parking a car overnight was a bit expensive and I was not told about it until the bill was slipped under my door on the morning of checkout.

I love to stay at this hotel while traveling to Ft Lauderdale on business because after my day of work, I can park my car and walk to one of a dozen good restaurants or go to a bar featuring live music. This hotel is not really for the hard core 20-something party kids so you can get a good night's sleep without frequent loud outbursts by Jr. letting the world know that drinking and ready to party! The hotel has both a "historical" section of original hotel and a new tower allowing you to decide the kind of experience you would like. (I enjoy the old school rooms myself.) If you stay in the older section, floors 4 and 5 do not have internet access.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 51Experience Ft Lasuderdale they way it used to be.
Not the place for you if you want to be right on the beach with the constant thumping from cruisers and clubers going on below you. Great if you want to be taken care of in a classic four star fashion at a hotel that has a mix of new and historical rooms. You feel as though you are staing in a piece of history. The neighborhood invites you to go out and walk around. Many many good restaurants, art, and retail just outside the front door. If you want to go tothe beach it's a short 5 minutes. Not that much fun for the hipsters or Elbow Room crowd.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 51Great hotel experience
For those who like older hotels this one is excellent. For those who don't, there is a modern wing attached. Staff members are pleasant and helpful. Fabulous location on a street filed with art galleries and trendy restaurants. I ate at the Indigo restaurant in the hoptel and had a wonderful meal at a reasonable price.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 51WOW!
My only complaint is that the bed was not real comfortable. The location is superb if you are looking for a place to stay with night life and stuff to do within walking distance. The fact that the Cheesecake factory was right there was a huge plus for my husband! Suggest valet parking your car for convenience since this is an area where parking can be hard to located. This hotel exceeded my expectations for service and location. I will use Hotels.com for all my future bookings.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 51Old Hotel Needs a Makeover
The air conditioning unit was stuck on high and the only choice was to unplug it. The plug for computer awkward. The bathroom was quite small. The room service food was good. The staff was kind.

The Riverside Hotel is ideally located around great eating and small specialty shops. You can park the car and walk to everything. The ocean is less than a mile away!! Great staff and service.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 51Riverside Hotel is my favorite Hotel in Fort Lauderdale
This Hotel is perfect for business travelers like me. All the Families with kids (I do like kids...just not running up and down the halls), and the "Party-Hard" set, are staying closer to the beach leaving this beautiful and historic hotel to those who can better appreciate it. After your work day is done just park the car and forget it. You can walk out the door in either direction and find fine dining live music/nightlife and ample shopping. The hotel also has a good restaurant as well. The hotel has it's legacy original hotel rooms if you are into the history, or you can also upgrade into the newer tower suites if you prefer modern elegance. I try to stay at the Riverside whenever I visit Fort Lauderdale.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 51Good service, Bad room location
The service was excellent! Very much above what you receive at the big "chain" hotels. The room was great but the view was sub-par. They put me in a room that looked at air conditioning units, no view at all, not even a view around the corner, or up and over. Just plain ugly view - no point in the window.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 51Unfortunate construction choices
I have stayed at the Riverside numerous times in both the older and newer rooms (I tend to like the charm of the older rooms). I usually have a very pleasant experience but unfortunately for some mad reason the hotel opted for their current remodeling work to take place in the middle of the night. This meant listening to hammers, saws and routers at 2am. When I phoned the front desk they said the only thing they could do was offer a discount on the room which I didn't see since I was pre-paid. Instead I had a $40 erroneous mini-bar charge at checkout so clearing that was my focus. I still recommend the hotel but ask about construction and check your bill.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 51great property, lovely staff
enjoyed brief business related stay in this beautiful hotel. My hotels . com rate left me in the "old" building but the ambience and amenities were excellent. Enjoyed use of the pool cross the street on the New River and utilized restaurants and neighboring clubs and shops. The off season summer rates were attractive and overall very satisfied.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 51Not too shabby
I stayed in the renovated section on the third floor. My window faced Las Olas Blvd but there were street level businesses between so I saw alot of rooftop. Otherwise the room was clean, the service nice and you are in the middle of Las Olas.
