Be careful - You may not get what you ask for, nor may you get the whole truth

I reserved a non-smoking room, but when I arrived I was told they had a smoking room for me. After I explained that was unacceptable and that I reserved a non-smoking room, I was given, or so I was told, a non-smoking room. When I arrived at the room, it was, in fact, a smoking room. Luckily, the room did not reek; only a little odor in the bathroom. The most disturbing thing about the whole situation was being lied to. Before I proceeded upstairs to what I believed to be a non-smoking room, I asked point blank: "Is this a non-smoking room?" I was told that is was

Good value for the money

This was a nice hotel for the price I paid. I had no difficulty with check-in and no delays. The staff was pleasant and efficient. I had to leave for a meeting during the day and the valet service was prompt. I had breakfast at the cafeteria and the food was good compared to the price. It is clearly an older hotel, but seems to be well maintained.

Great hotel for the money

At a convention in a nearby hotel I saw the price of the rooms at the convention site, not having alot of money I sayed next door for almost half the price. I saw the condition of their rooms and then mine. I would stay at the Showboat anytime verses the neighboing hotel. The heat/air was great, the shower was great and the size was perfect. My friends were so jealous, the will be staying at Showboat next year with me.

Very Noisey

Must have paper thin walls and floors. Could hear people talking in the next room and hear the TV playing ti 3 am. This is also one of the few hotels in Atlantic City without an indoor pool.

Needs Improvement

Waited in line for 30 minutes to check in (few people working the counter). At check in, I was told they only had one available room ready. I found out it was a smoking room (I am a non-smoker). I took the room, but the stench made me sick. The room itself was not impressive considering the price.

Great Hotel

Hotel room was great. Large bathroom, huge bathtub, Marble floors. Very nice. A few things were a little sloppy, but not a big deal. Room was clean. The AC Filter cover was hanging off the wall, but snapped right back into place. Overall stay was great. Its true about the room service. It took about 45 minutes to get your order, and the food isnt that good. The buffet and sandwich shop has much better food, eat there. I will be back next year.

Showboat

The hotel is conveniently located however, the room decor appeared old. The carpet was stained, and the furnishings were obviously old and worn. All things considered, I would probably stay at the hotel again, due to the convenience of the location as well as the rate available through hotels.com.
