Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 315Great room for the money
This was a great hotel. The room was clean and neat. If you consider the extremly low price that I paid, this stay was definitely a 10 out of 10.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 315Look elsewhere
This hotel is in need of an upgrade. It is dated and worn. The hotel is understaffed and I had to wait several times for the phone to be answered by the front desk. One one ocassion the line to get breakfast in the Sherwood Forest Cafe was so long that we gave up. We later learned that they were understaffed and did not anticipate such crowds even though there were 2 very large conferences in town. We found ourselves going elsewhere for dinner because service throughout the hotel was so poor. The rooms where acceptable but not great. Security was a concern and I walked right past security without showing my key more often then they asked for it. I had 2 different outside foot establishments slide menus under my door. Apparently they got past security as well. Pay a little more elsewhere and get a lot more.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 315arrogant security personnel
I had equipment to carry from this hotel to the neighboring hotels for work issues. When security informed me I cannot use this in their hotel, I did not, but was carrying the stuff to the neighboring hotels. Inspite of stating that I am heading to those hotels they stop me for questioning for almost an hour. The wallpaper in the room was peeling off. When I talked to the cleaning lady about that she said, they have only one person fixing this stuff for the whole hotel and it will not be fixed in a year.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 315extra fees
Despite paying Hotels.com in full; they ask for a credit card upon chek-in and hand you a "resort fee." It was minor, but unexpected.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 315Terrible Customer Service
I had a bad experience with service at this hotel. After my room was cleaned, I found a very long hair on the bristles of my toothbrush. I called the maids/front desk/supervisor, and no one would get me a new one. One supervisor said, "can you prove it's our maid's hair?" I was completely offended and grossed out. Additionally, the hotel had a very misleading "resort fee" which I was told at check-in was a fee for my stay, but at check-out it was a fee for each day I stayed. It was significant too, over 15% of my room rate. I'd stay away.

Liked the location. Easy access. Thought the halls seemed a little dark. Would definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 315Good deal for the Money
The Excalibur offers some of the best deals for hotels on the strip as it is one of the older hotels. So, for the money, it is a good deal but if you're looking for more than price there are better choices. The mattresses are old and need replaced, and the casino is one of the most smoke-filled on the strip. Good fast food options as well as full buffet for a great price. Overall, good place for bargain hunters, and easy access to good nightclubs on the strip. Hotel staff is very friendly.

I use the fitness center at hotels and was very impressed with this one and it only cost $5.00 per day. The one negative was an additional charge that was assessed for hotel fees once I checked in to my room. considering I did not need to pay $179/night at the nearby hotel where my conference was being held, I was very glad to pay the small fees.

Excellent and professional services; respectful and helpful bell services. Room was clean and well kept and updated. Food was good at the buffet, and fairly priced

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 315Not worth the savings
I booked the Excalibur since it was connected to the Mandalay Bay by a tram and it would make it quick and easy to get to my conference. The problem was that the tram didn't run before 11am, making it useless. This wasn't advertised anywhere, by the way I only found out by trying several mornings. The beds were awfully uncomfortable, like sleeping on a cardboard box. The air conditioning units were extremely loud. And I had to pay an extra fee for getting into the room early. Friends that stayed at other hotels had that extended to them for free.
