Clean, friendly and fun

The hotel is the first on the boadwalk with a great view of the beach and bay. It within walking distance to several great restaurants, on the ocean and the bay. The staff is courteous and friendly and very helpful. They know all about the area! We will stay again if we are in Virginia Beach.

Absolutly Great for the Price

The room was clean and well kept up. The couple of problems with one light and the alarm clock was fixed prompltly. It is located at the beginning of a 3 mile boardwalk so it is open on one side. The wall of windows was fantastic for beach and people watching. There are two very nice, very good casual ocean view restaurants a couple of blocks up the boardwalk from the hotel. Everyone was pleasant and accomodating. My sister and I loved staying here and I just made reservations to return in September!

This place was Wonderful!

This is the first hotel that my sister didn't feel the need to move around the room to "nest." The wall of windows afforded a fantastic view of the ocean. The staff was exceptional. The reading light between the beds didn't work, nor the alarm clock (someone had taken the power cord) when we arrived and they sent someone to fix it quickly. When my sister inadvertantly messed up the safe number and locked us out, a man showed up to reset the code within 15 minutes. We like that it is the first hotel on the boardwalk and there are two excellant restaurants within 4 blocks that have wonderful ocean views. We had such a nice stay that we are coming back in the fall! It is an older hotel, but it is clean, friendly and effecient.

Better than previous reviews

I was pleasantly surprised. The rate that we paid was about the same as you would pay for a motel or other "economic" lodging, especially considering that that weekend there was a special event being held at the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable. I've stayed at hotels costing three times as much that didn't have as comfortable beds. The rooms were equipped with modern thermostats and heating so we didn't have to contend with those radiator type heaters. Our room opene up to a beautiful view of the beach. I love the location because it is at a quieter end of the strip so you don't have to contend with "tourist" noise as much. My one complaint was that it took quite awhile for the water to heat up in the shower. Overall it was a great stay.
